I babysit - I babysat all through high school and college and occasionally after graduating. I stopped after I got my job at EY and moved to my current city. Initially I picked it up again because I was planning to move to a more expensive apartment in my city and needed to save up some extra cash for a broker fee. I didn’t wind up moving but I’ve been working for this family for 1.5 years and I love them and look forward to going over every week. It’s a brief escape from my real life and the cash is just a nice bonus, definitely don’t need it. Also, this sounds weird, but somehow babysitting really helped me acclimate to my city and made me really feel like I live here.
I also babysat for about 7 years before getting promoted/married. I find most of my families on care.com once I located 3-4 that I really clicked with I stuck with them until they moved out of state or their kids outgrew sitters. It was great forming relationships with these families, especially because my family lives out of state.
I have really been considering summer landscaping. I have such fond memories of that summer job. Despite shoveling dirt and trimming weeds at 6AM for 10hours a dayterally cooking to a crisp for ten bucks an hour, the energy I had after work was unparalleled. There’s something to be said about seeing a cleared field you spent the day or week on. So not really for the money, but I might pickup a little weekend ‘scaping.
Thanks I seriously hope so too! Unfortunately it’s been about the same for me. 10 solid hours of screen radiation.

CA1 👀 I'm sliding in those DMs. Didn't do anything fun this pride so this will be a fun send-off 😂

Im thinking of doing bar tending at local winery/brewery. Mostly because I’m bored and have no life on weekends but also to get some extra cash to save up.
No, but the postings for wineries and breweries don’t require experience (based on their posting only). I think for bar tending you’d have to do a course at a bar tending school- which is also something I’ve considered.

Etsy store. Tacky woodworking stuff/ signs that Karen’s love along with liquor bottles I turn into lamps, for the Chads/ college students.
Lamps pay for my drinking so I can’t complain.
I’ll post my Etsy store link later
I build custom cars on weekends. The right customers make it somewhat profitable. But they are also people I know so that keeps margins down.
Yeah. I don't make much money off it building for friends but it's a good way to practice skills on someone else's car before doing it to mine. The test rides are a lot of fun too when the owner is a member at the private road course in town.
Every immigrant reading this :- if only I could 😐
Babysitting for my neighbors- I typically make $25 an hour so sometimes $100-175 a night and the kids are usually asleep so I just chill and watch Netflix or read a book and eat someone else’s snacks after a long travel week. Honestly it’s like getting paid to decompress and relax so no complaints

Haha is your company hiring?
I'm an online English tutor. 💖it.
C6, are you talking about VIP kid?
I walk dogs on Wag! Sometimes. Pay is ok and I get the chance to be around dogs without the responsibility of ownership
Which is better - Wag or Rover?
I DJ at bars and nightclubs on the weekends. Play thurs - sat every week. Monthly Pay is about the same as what I make as a 2nd yr consultant. Can’t wait till Covid is over :(
Local to project so I don’t travel. It’s still rough working the next day but fridays are pretty chill anyway so it’s bearable
Since WFH started, I’ve been working as a resident speciality chef at my home. Pay is really low. Sometime I have to pay them back to take a PTO.
How are you all moonlighting and getting it approved by the company? KPMG has a no outside employment rule (by approval only). Are you just ignoring this rule and doing it any way? I read the KPMG rule specifically states you cannot even teach yoga classes on the weekends without firm approval. Seems a bit excessive but does everyone just do it anyway or get it approved the right way?
They don’t know what you don’t tell them. Unless you plan on making Partner one day they’ll never see your tax returns/side income. Like cmon people this is easy
I teach Pilates! Free workouts and good money!
I have a side job as a farmer. Make more money than I do during the week.
I am in mid Atlantic. But all areas in the world can grow crops. Different ones work better in different places. Look up US agricultural zones and a list of crops for your zone.
I trade options. I’ve always had an interest in finance/ trading so there was a brief decision making process
When I first graduated, I house and dog sat... pays great for playing with a dog and watching TV 😂
D29, how did you get into Rover? How much can you make doing that?
