~90% of the DDs are almost always remote.
Corp dev here - 100% remote except for traveling to targets, conferences, etc
And usually fly to HQ once every 2 months just to see people.
For people earlier in their career I’d recommend not going 100% wfh if possible. Hybrid would be fine but at the Junior levels I think learning in the room is much more critical.
Similar position - Head of CorpDev, 100% remote apart from regular investor (PE) meetings which happen at their offices. Can be challenging getting to know people in teams you work with regularly at the beginning, but all that really means is it takes longer, and the benefits for childcare and personal life outweigh that IMO

Yes, consulting, mostly buy side. 95% wfh, travel maybe once a quarter for a few days but honestly it’s nice to get out of the house. Big downside is lack of contact with peers. M&A is about deals and deal closing takes people, so i am worried about getting left behind

Per above, I also do DDs
Have been to the office twice in the past 18 months, and had one client meet and greet to kick off a project. Primarily Product & IT DD and sign-to-close strategy work. I’ve had a long working relationship with core colleagues, and draw backs are likely what you’d expect - some lack of social interaction. But overall, having freedom to work when it’s convenient (AM or late PM) and be able to balance fitness, hobbies, friends etc. is a huge plus.
We have a fairly loose blended working policy as well, so a small % of seniors (incl. a partner) in our team seem to only come in once in a blue moon. Tbh I feel it’s slowly but surely killing the any feeling of belonging in our team.
ITDD is quite remote, save for large industrial environments/massive amounts of on-premise infrastructure.
A key risk with brining people on-site is accidentally revealing to people outside of NDA’s that ownership is considering selling the company. Remote work takes care of this risk very nicely.
PwC remote only. Signed recently and havent started so I can't talk to drawbacks but partner I'd spoken with had no problem with me being remote only.
(Assuming your current C title is A/SA here) Drawbacks are your in-office junior peers are going to be networking you under the table
Obviously it’s the flagship office but M&A (Deals + DDV) has been very well represented at 300 Madison of late. Associates and Seniors have been filling the bullpen. Partners and Directors are have been kicking Associates and Seniors out of offices at an exceptional rate. Managers and S Managers are somewhere I think starting families but they’ll be back soon
I won’t tell you you’re making a bad choice doing what works for you but A’s and SA’s are benefiting from building communities among themselves and getting Partner exposure. You could be more talented than 90% of our entire staff, but a common staffing scenario is a Manager+ asks around a few people and a junior knows someone is about to roll off and all of a sudden they have their next home. Or Partners literally horse trade personnel.
You are at the mercy of those you have been able to meet remotely and you may not folks anywhere as deep as your in office peers
I do synergies, I’ve never been to my home office. I occasionally fly to an office for sprints but it’s super rare
Yes. BDO TAS was almost full remote prior to the pandemic except for integration work. So I didn’t have to do anything to get remote status.
Our entire DD team is WFH minus maaaaaaaybe the lead.
