We started out with referrals to get our name out there, but in 2021 we started implementing an Instagram profile, we hired a marketing firm for that purpose but you can go a long way with canva (app). I am happy to say we were successful in securing a new retainer and a couple of new clients.
You can get the phone ringing pretty quickly with paid Google ads. Best to outsource this to a good marketing company that charges only when they send you a “qualified” lead, so you only pay when there’s performance.
Due to fee-splitting rules, it can’t be contingent upon whether the prospect retains you. But I’m not aware of any ethical problem with not charging for an unqualified lead, such as a prospect who’s outside your jurisdiction, has a case outside your practice area, or is really just someone trying to sell you something.
