Does anyone have advice on how to keep track of cases? I am 6 months in at a small med/insurance firm. When we are assigned cases by clients, it's my job to request and organize the medical records. We're starting to get dozens of COVID cases, in addition to regular litigation cases, and I am SO OVERWHELMED. I'm currently in a "paralysis-over analysis" stage and don't know how to get myself out of it. I feel like I'm drowning, help.

I am in the immigration field, but I use an online excel sheet to list out my cases outside of our firm case management system. I have it sectioned off based on where I am with each case, so I can easily look and see that I have however many cases in whatever stage. I list pertinent information, names, due dates, case comments etc. i have a separate tab for cases that I have filed and the results so I can keep track of how many cases I have handled. I know your field is different but I hope this is helpful!

Also want to note that I highlight each case if I need to do something with it throughout the day and also go through at the end of the day to make sure I know my priorities for the next day.

I use task management software rather than keeping an excel spreadsheet. I use Microsoft to-do, and keep a list of tasks that need to be done on each case, no matter how small or mundane.

We use a Word Template that they’ve had for years. We call it the Tracking Chart in each file. I update it each time we receive documents and leave notes re each request. It would be impossible to keep up without this!

I keep track of my cases using either excel or word. Create a chart and input what you need to keep track such as deadlines, notes, things done, what is due and what needs follow up. That should keep you on top of all your cases and easy to use to update your attorneys.

I've applied for these types of jobs and get nowhere. But when I apply to engineering organizations I get called immediately.
