Honestly I was a COO of my own business and went back to one of the big 4 consulting firms. I hate it. I wish I would have stayed in my business longer and invested more time before jumping ship. I’m still operating my business but now the time and motivation I have to have it continue after my 9-5 is very minimal.

Salary question! I’m a senior account manager with 5+ yrs experience (Commercial Insurance) - on the road to being an Account Executive in the next year. Can others post their base salary that are in a similar spot in their career? Does anyone have advice on the hours typically worked at CFGI? I'm currently in a senior manager role with the expectation to be TMD in the next two years - however, given staffing issues and the politics of the firm, I'm looking for a switch.

In addition, as a non-audit accounting firm, do former big 4 employees working at CFGI pick back up their investments and are no longer restricted?

I look forward to any input CFGI employees may have. Thanks!

Could you get serious with a man if he was on Section8/EBT? Why or why not?

I recently found this out about someone I’m talking to. I asked him what his plans were and if he saw it as a long term thing but he got kind of defensive and said he needs 2-5 years to get his life together to get off section8. He is currently 32.

I hope this doesn’t come off as shallow!

Any advice on pivoting from film/commercial production to agency (in toronto)? Asking for a friend. They have a 2-3 years of experience but are finding the work really unstable/inconsistent and just generally incompatible with their mental health (overnight shifts, etc). They’re aware agency is really busy/a grind too, but think it would be a better fit. They’re also exceptionally extrovert and would be excellent in any sort of client facing role. Does anyone have any advice/experience/thoughts?

I have been thinking about a pivot into the finance sector. Currently, I am in IT management, but I’ve meet a few people who have gotten much farther with FI than with IT. To me, it seems IT plateaus in terms of career options. Is it too late to start? Any suggestions on how to change careers so far into work-life? Thanks!

i have an offer for $120K on 1099 and they want me to sign/start next Monday. I just got called for another position i’ve been interviewing for, on final stages of interview. Would it look bad to negotiate start date with $120K offer for following Monday to allow time for finishing out other interviews? (ideally would like options)

Last week I got an email from a job that I interviewed for months ago asking me if I was still looking, the current person they hired got called back to active duty and resigned. This job is a manager position with a large university and has amazing benefits, only draw back I have to go back into the office. After our 3 hour interview with the department chair, dean, and other managers they seemed very interested in me. They have completely ghosted me and I am stressing me out.

I've done my post-graduation in management from a tier 2 B-school (IMT, TAPMI, IMI, KJSOM and the like). Majored in marketing with some operations subjects. I'm currently working as a research analyst for about 1.5 years supporting mostly consulting work in the health and life sciences industry.

I am looking to move out of this industry into a more direct industry-oriented role rather than currently (which is like looking into the industry from the outside).

Any advice? (cont. in comments)

Any loss prevention investigators in here that pivoted to employee relations investigations or investigative work outside of the retail space?

I'm at a career juncture and have decided on a career in anti-money laundering as my new path. I'm also highly interested in additional education to further my career and am eyeing graduate school. Which is best? A law degree or a master's in international relations? Those are where my interests lie. I keep reading that JDs are valued in compliance but am wondering if a different graduate program is better for my goals. I already plan to obtain the CAMS certification. Thank you!

Would you recommend I take a project mgmt role at Meta under a 9 month contract for 60/hr or stay at a role that has potential with nearly no possibility of getting laid off? My fear is that the economy gets worse and I’m stuck after the 9 months.

Current comp is 40/hr. I could probably get a promotion around Dec 2022-April 2023 bringing my comp to around $100k salary (potentially more). I’m 24, 4 YOE, and this contract would be with Collabera with Meta as the client.
