Your EAP may offer a certain number of issues that EAP legal council will provide support to you on. One of my friends looped them in when she bought from a builder-owned new build and found it helpful. Also do not skimp on a really good home inspector; they can identify things that are going to be issues down the line as well.
There are also real estate attorneys - in cities like chicago, counsel is required for both buyer and seller (cost is often minimal - <$1k - for the value). You might look locally and see if there are options for you nearby and familiar with your state or city laws

Normandy is a good builder, they should not close the house until they fix everything they agreed to on the home inspection report. The contracts are always favoring the builder and you cant do anything about it. Closing early should not be a problem if you are okay with it. Get everything in writing.
Interested in this too, thanks for posing the question!
First, congrats! We bought a new construction from the builder, closed in February. Our contract was set up so that we had a final walkthrough about 5 days prior to closing where we called out any issues and had our inspector there to give his input as well. Then the morning of closing met at the house again to confirm that all those issue were addressed and then signed that we accepted the fixes. Until we signed that acceptance, closing would not go forward.
Paid $575 survey fee in closing that was originally paid by the builder. So the 575 was to reimburse them
