Accepted an offer as an EM for a consulting startup. The offer had no mention of a background check or any other employment dependencies. If I've already signed the offer letter, am I clear to quit my current role since employment doesn't appear to be contingent on anything? Should I be waiting for something? I know lots of people wait for background checks to clear before putting in their 2 weeks.

I work in inside sales selling data center hardware to commercial customers. I have the opportunity to take a new field sales role (w/ same company) selling DC equipment to federal government customers. My concern is that I will be stuck in the Federal space and it will be difficult/impossible to ever pivot back to selling in the commercial space. My longterm vision is to go to sales/sales management at a startup. Think this new role helps, hurts, or makes no diff?

I have interviewed for a sales representative position in a company that sales facility services. At my current job I’m only makes about $30k per year and that is hourly. No bonuses. This job makes $45k plus bonuses with a car and gas incentive. However, it’s a bit of a change in sale types. My current job, I have customers that come in to buy things where as the new position would be me going to them and cold calling. I have never done that before. I'm thinking about pursuing a MBA with an emphasis in technology. In the short term, I want to move into a product manager role and then ultimately have my own tech startup. When I drink alcohol on a semi regular basis, my resting heart rate is much higher (65 - 70) when I don’t drink, it takes about a week for my resting heart rate to go down to about 58. I haven’t been very active lately but I eat healthy and try to make sleep a priority. However, I’d be interested to know how that compares to others.

Im in my second year of being a Site Manager, in total control of all operations on site. Got my raise for the year, 5%. Everybody in the business got a raise of 5%, from the bottom to the top. Next review is due July 2023. Can’t help but feel my raise should have reflected me being one year more experienced. Im a high performer so I’m annoyed that I’m still on 2-3k per year less than my job is advertised at by recruiters. Is it worth having a moan/chat for the sake of 2-3k per annum????
