I’m thinking of turning down a job offer without anything (or anything full-time) lined up. Tell me if I’m being stupid, given the current economy, or if it’s better to hold out.
Context: I was reduced from full-time to part-time freelance at my old (current?) job. The place where I have an offer is very young, doesn’t have a creative director (I would be answering to marketing), and the offer is well below what I believe is average for midlevel in the city they’re in.

Why is there a global hiring freezing in hp when it may open ?

Midsize private firm: Criminal, PI, and Family Law Depts. No body talks about their pay rates but rumor mill pins the highest paid dept is PI, with 2nd Criminal and coming in last Family Law. The Attorneys profit share salaries while paralegals and support staff are paid hourly. There are talks of year end bonuses for each dept but how and what those bonuses are based on Nobody knows for sure. It’s all so mysterious and subject to favoritism. Is this pay setup the norm where you live and work?

Amerisourcebergen doesn't care about its employees. We have no mental health awareness. Leadership only promotes people who kiss ass the most qho have no managerial experience and pass people who actually have experience in a manager role. Leadership never helps you with anything. What is a responsible salary to ask for as a dietitian in the greater Seattle area? Most jobs are offering 70-75,000$ and although that is a good salary I can’t afford to live around Seattle if I accept that. I’ve been a dietitian for 5 years and it seems like dietitians aren’t paid fairly for the work load we are expected to take on.

I have been given new bosses 2x in 60-90 days. We now have 15 minute huddles every morning on bus dev activities. The newest boss who I now directly report is with us 5 weeks. Very close to receiving a job offer for a fast growin start-up company related to dental. It is located in SF which unfortunately is not Americas most expensive city to live in (I’d have to move there). Started pricing apartments and will need an offer of about $135k to qualify for housing but anything I find for a salary reference says the company plays about 95k in SF - how do I justify my experience and drive to the company to show my value or is that too big of a wage gap to bridge? I have been applying non stop to jobs that do require a bachelors and I am qualified for. Either I don’t get called for an interview or when I do I’m not selected.
