What is a normal pay cut to go in house? For reference, I am a 5th year corporate associate making approx 250k base salary. I was just offered 180k base salary. Is it unreasonable to expect to be around my current rate which is “market” for my city? I don’t care about bonus or equity but know that companies place more value on those - my lifestyle/current expenses (this is short term - working on a big Reno) a higher salary so I’m trying to decide if it’s feasible right now or if I should wait.

I’m an HR Generalist. My job is a mix of recruitment and Employee Relations. I find the recruitment aspect to be pretty enjoyable and stress free, but the Employee Relations aspect does often give me a lot of anxiety (I’m a very anxious person to begin with). I have not heard anything about that. Your state association will normally grant you a 3 month extension pretty easily. Most allow you to email them and request it and they will respond with an extension. It doesn’t buy you a lot of time through it really only can be used if you have 1 (maybe 2) parts left to finish.

Articling in big law and getting sworn in soon. Got an in house offer at a big company, which pays more than big law and someone says they’re willing to mentor me. Wondering if I should make the jump? How hard would it be to go back to a law firm if I regret it.
