I know their GC (Lindsay) as well as their previous GC now president of business affairs (Kirsten) Both are stellar lawyers and people. They care about their team and about doing good work.

I can’t speak to what the company is like to work for; but anyone with a chance to work for Kirsten should consider themselves very fortunate.

I work in an old school company that does not allow anyone to work remote except for management if necessary. Ever since the pandemic started, it’s been a regular day reporting to work and sitting in the office all day. Due to Covid, we decided it’s best to not meet in person but stay in our desk and talk via Teams/zoom. I am now struggling on finding a remote job because I don’t have any remote work experience. Any tips on how to get a remote job in HR?

If you work remote, which I assume at least some (most?) of us do. Is their any amount of money or benefits they could offer you that would make you go back to the office? I'm an SDE for a smaller company and I think it's time for me to move on, they're asking everyone to come back and offering no incentive, I know I could make the same or more working from home for someone else.

Hi Fishes,

Anyone looking for Technical writer opportunity with CPU, GPU, semiconductor work experience, DM me. Work from home, hybrid work culture with great work life balance. Happy to refer.

I have so much mom guilt sending my baby to daycare. She’s 6 months old. The transition has been harder on me than her (she seems fine and happy, just isn’t sleeping well there yet) but I wonder if I should try and find a different solution. Part time nanny, part time daycare? We can’t afford a nanny full time. If I’m WFH and we have a nanny part time is it realistic that I’d see her during the day or am I kidding myself?

Hi, I'm an HR Generalist and the HR contact for our local facility. My HR team is located out of state. I'm running into a problem with the local GM. He does his own thing, refuses to follow processes that I implement, and would rather talk to the head of my department instead of the Senior HR Manager and myself. When I ask clarifying questions, he gets defensive and states that I'm questioning him. Not sure how to deal with this situation.

With my bf, so far no red flags regarding point 1. But I'm quite scared he actually have someone in japan. Is it just my trust issues?

After 6 months, just told billables are too low, turnaround time is too high, and theyre concerned about my fit. I feel like I’ve just been launched into a bunch of matters with little/no guidance.

How much do you rely on your para? I’m in my 30s and pretty computer literate, I don’t dictate, I like doing research etc. I know other attorneys that have their paras do all their discovery, all their research, all their motions and I wonder how it’s possible to hit billables if someone else is doing the majority of your work? Seems crazy to me.

This may be just a naive/dumb question, but how do you relax when you’ve got a really stressful file? I’m a junior and I’ve been putting in ~10ish billable hours a day recently, which is more than I’m used to. The evenings (post-8pm) are generally my time to decompress - read a book, watch dumb tv, whatever - but it’s been all work lately until 10 or 11pm and I struggle to go straight from work to bed. Any insight on what everyone else does?
