I wonder if it would be possible for a firm’s marketing team to make a couple fishbowl accounts 🤔
Lmao is it that surprising to you that someone actually likes their law firm? I’ve had a good experience here after some very negative experiences at other firms. And my advice to you as a judicial law clerk would be to focus hard on fit. Clerks have a unique opportunity to vet firms with the context of some years of practice (or at least friends in practice) and without worrying about a current firm finding out you’re interviewing behind their back. I vetted firms extensively before joining squire because I wanted to find the best fit for me. I think there are many people who may not do well here. But for my practice and my experience level it’s been a very positive thing.
Happy to discuss. I like it here. As with any firm with 1500+ lawyers, experiences may vary among different offices and groups. I have almost universally positive things to say based on my experience though. People don’t bug me on the weekends, lots of opportunities, and I haven’t come across anyone I really dislike despite working with many partners in many different offices. I like the people and it’s a good fit for me. The work is interesting and my practice is varied, which I enjoy.
I have been at Squire for two years now and I love it. Hours are reasonable, partners are great mentors and I do have a work-life balance.
Hi, are you in the London office?
75-80% of the time I like working at SPB. I like the people and I usually don’t get bothered on the weekend. 1950 billable requirements and salary is somewhat less than market.
Agree w/ other comments here—vast majority of the time I love working at SPB. Don’t get bothered on weekends/vacations with pretend rush projects. I’m in a low COL city so my comp is WAY above other firms here, but it is less than market in NYC/LA/DC. Structure is much less eat what you kill than other places as well… I’ve worked at other firms and the culture here is above and beyond what I expected. Have only worked for a couple of ppl I truly disliked and it was easy to avoid them going forward. Commercial litigation senior associate here.
it’s a good place. Unlike attorney 1, I’m in a high COL city and am grossly underpaid. Most people are great but there are some to avoid. There’s going to be some bad apples among the 1,500 🤷♂️
