Does anyone have any insight to Schulte’s litigation practice group? Other than what I can find online (which is admittedly a lot).

Ummm it’s fine
It’s a small group ~40 attnys. I’d say junior and midlevels are very nice and chill, seniors and partners it’s a mixed bag. Given the size, you get a lot of attention and therefore it’s easier to get opportunities for substantive experience but also difficult to fly under the radar and not bill. I don’t think we work as much as like a V10 associate but during busy periods I do work late & on weekends

It’s a pretty WFH-friendly group. Official policy is any three days a week. I think most people come in 2 days, a solid number only come in one day and nobody seems to care, and some even never come in

So I'm in a conundrum. I do tax in Chicago but I can honestly say that I have only missed one or two scheduled dinners in my two years at the firm. My partner has always been respectful.

My girlfriend is in a different industry and her boss is always trying to keep her over and will invite her to random dinner and try to pressure her into it.

I was voicing my frustration to a partner and he told me to say "you're the one stealing [x] away from me" when meet her boss. Well, I did it and ope..

Hi all! I’m looking to transition to a mid-sized/big law firm in NYC upon completion of my bankruptcy clerkship in Seattle in three months. New York barred and interested in bankruptcy/restructuring work. Graduated from Emory with honors. Anyone know of firms looking to hire in the near future? Any recommendations/tips/advice on how best to approach the process. I’ve never actually worked for a firm in the past, so I’m a bit foreign in how best to attract the larger firms. Thanks!

Serious billing question - if during the course of the day, you first receive an email from Client A at say 11:10am and you read it, you then respond to it at 12:20pm. You get another email at 2pm from Client A and respond immediately. The next email comes in at 4pm, you read it and respond only at 4:30pm. None of the email responses take more than 3-5mins. You are working on matters for other clients at all other times during the day. How much are you billing for Client A?
