Does anyone have any recommendations/referrals for beginner graphic design roles? I have some experience doing projects and am pivoting from Sales.
I know Canva and Figma well, but not Adobe Suite (which everyone requires). Is there any company/role out there that is for complete newbs to work their way up?

Is there any way you could begin getting experience in Adobe? Would help a lot. You could also try very small companies and work for little pay to get experience and then jump

In my experience the best place to start is look at your local print shops and sign shops. They’re not going to pay as much but at least you’ll make some money and learn on their dime. But I would recommend you start to learn the Adobe suite.

Just signed the offer for my exit. Getting a 30k+ signing bonus, and would like to hear thoughts as to some good ideas to invest this to maximize my potential.

Some ideas I had is putting some in a ROTH IRA and the rest in a high yield investment account or a VOO, as extra capital I can use to invest in real estate or start a business in the near future. Would love to hear what the bowl recommends.

Isn't it possible to have a conversation with hiring manager in Amazon before joining. I tried to have a catch up with him regarding my roles and responsibilities, but my manager denied. I was told , that I will be only able to interact with him after joining. Now I am starting to give a second thought about joining Amazon.
Should I drop the offer?

Such a bad timing to find new position right now! I am sure I speak for a lot of us, but interviews started happening right before covid and now companies are delaying their process due to obvious reasons.

Hello Fishes,

Post my MBA (Fin), I've been working in a bank as a Relationship Manager for over a year. I've realized majority of roles in banking are sales profiles (also less learnings and repetitive work) . I'd consider myself a good analyst rather than a salesperson.
Though I am doing decent in this role, feeling out of place here. Could you please suggest some profiles in banking industry where I would be able to use my financial knowledge, analytical skills and learn something new.

I have a serious question regarding this because time is running out. I quit my job last year on Nov 5. I had about two weeks of PTO accrued and I wasn’t paid out my PTO. Looking for some thoughts on the pros/cons of contract work/temp-to-perm roles VS full time direct hire? I’ve been an EA for 30 years and have always been direct hire. I am now on the market and being approached by a lot of contract opportunities with seemingly good rates. Aside from the obvious lack of health insurance, are there other downfalls to contract work? Thanks in advance for sharing your thoughts.
