I went to b School. My colleague didn't- so this is all from what I've heard him say. I've gotten raises and a promotion that he has not, and largely our performance is the same. He regrets the break that I got, the network that I have, and the career center. That right, mba career centers are for life- I still have coaching calls and get referred for some cool stuff my my career center. It's a perk I didn't really think about before.

I found that it was. It's a personal choice- and everyone has good and bad thoughts about it. Neither option (going/not going) is perfect- there will be times where you're spending money and regretting the lost salary, and my friends have told me they regret not getting the experience and break of an MBA. It's all relative.

Mind you- this was a top tier b school.

That's pretty cool- I've never seen that talked about when reading about schools (granted I haven't looked that far into it). Would only be going to a top 15 school or bust... it's possible that I'd get into an m7 but would need to hustle a bit to make it happen

Just don't know if it's worth taking a 2 year hiatus for it

I certainly do, starting to hit potential "golden handcuffs in my career". Think the network, time off and ability to change careers later on that network could afford you is very difficult to gain without. That said the opportunity cost of deferred comp make it much tougher decision for traders.

Yeah -- do it.

Even my spouse can tell a difference in me. The pay is good, but at what point is your mental health worth more than a paycheck? Is this new job blues or is this a sign of toxicity? Should I stay or should I go?

I’m seeking opportunities in business analysis, aside from just applying what are the best ways I can upskill myself to be proficient for such a role.
