Help!!! Struggling to complete my degree. I’ve been in a teaching role at my school since the beginning of the year. I’m at nearly 90 credits of college course work complete. I’m in Texas and there aren’t many options that can get me closer to certification. Any help or advice? I don’t want to lose the role I’m in. It’s literally what I’ve been groomed to do for the past two years. (& yes I’ve been in school during that time.)
My wife is looking for a change. She has got PhD in Finance and her primary experience is teaching in a MBA college.
Which companies give preference to candidates holding PhD and which all profiles she can target?
Any leads would be really helpful.

Hi all, looking to career pivot from retail to talent acquisition/recruiting. Trying to make myself stand out to make up for my lack of experience. Some roles I am interested in prefer PHR or SHRM certifications. Would it be worth it to pursue a certification to land a position? Thank you

Interested in your opinions for moving from strategy consulting to a corporate venture builder pre-MBA with ultimate goal of ending up in VC.
Current thinking would be:
T2 Strategy (2YOE) > Corporate Venture (~2YOE) > MBA (M7) > VC

In addition to Prosci, would it be beneficial to also complete the APMG Change Management Certification?

Looking for some candid feedback from PE firms who hire strategy / market research consultants for thesis dev / DD.
I’m running a project for a small boutique consulting firm (confidential) who are looking to improve their offering to PE firms. They do work market research (TAM/etc) as well as commercial due diligence support. Questions are: 1. What’s important to you in a consultant? 2. Where is the best place to reach you? 3. How would you prefer to be approached by a services company?
Slow Roasted Tomatoes and Anchovy Buccatini: A simple dish with complex flavors. Ripe tomatoes were slow roasted and carmelized for three hours in a confit of olive oil, garlic and fresh herbs. Anchovies were melted into the sauce to bring about a deep umami flavor and topped with an obscene amount of Parmagiano-Reggiano.

Dilemma… I left my old company 4 months ago. Today, they’ve reached out to me to ask me to come back at a higher role, Operations Manager. I would’ve jumped on this opportunity if they asked me before. However, this role would be hybrid (2x in office) and come along with more responsibilities and hours than my current WFH role which is very chill. The pay is only 15% more than I currently make. Any thoughts?
Hi fellow ladies in finance! Curious to know: has anyone seriously contemplated leaving the industry for similar reasons? I have over 10 years experience working for various firms, now as a CFP but I'm really feeling the burnout. I've worked hard to be in this position, but honestly...I'm tired of working really hard to put plans together and help people that do not do what they said they they want to do, and instead we are nagging clients to get shit done. The things, as planners, we cannot do
What are some tips for cultivating strong relationships from the start and making a good first impression at a new job?
Hi all, need some advice. Joined a new team at the start of the year. When I started everyone was great, but the past few weeks a male VP has started trying to discredit and take over my work (cont.)
Has anyone made the transition out of FP&A? I’ve been in FP&A at a financial services firm for over 10 years. Recently have felt very unmotivated and unhappy. The work hasn’t changed. I think I’m just in a rut and need to change environment and the people I interact with. I’m also very tired of the month end cycle and cadence. What are some options to go into?

Pregnant IBanking Director who will be a single mom needs advice on negotiating maternity leave - I have been with a boutique Ibank for 10 hrs and wish to ask for paid maternity leave and flexible WFH for another 3 months. Can you share any precedents form the industry? Our company policy is terrible (12 wk unpaid) and I wish to use my leverage to advocate for changing the policy for all future parents, not just for myself. Many thanks in advance.

Female corporate banker here, approaching year 3 as an analyst. Very top heavy team, but bank won’t promote juniors. Pay raises and larger bonuses keep coming, although I do think it is time to leave the firm. Loving the aspect of relationship management in Corporate Banking, but also thinking about heading into Investment Management. Any advice (either long term in Corp. Banking or on making the switch)?
Can someone give some advice on what life and work as a financial planner/advisor is like, day to day wise? Or how to become one (like what skills to have, specific degree, etc)? I currently work in compliance but have always enjoyed personal finance, and have lately just been trying to figure my career options out while I'm still under 30.
Looking for advice/stories on how to cope with toxic, male-dominated work environments and long hours. I’m the only woman in the IB division at my firm (out of ~25) and often feel alienated by my peers. I’m getting paid well but I’m not sure that its worth the hours / culture. I’ve been at my firm for 7 months now and am debating starting to look for new jobs, maybe tech or anything with better WLB! Tips in general for how to deal with 80+ hour work weeks would also be appreciated :)
What's the compensation structure for an investment counselor at Fisher investments? Could anyone help with this
I received an offer from a quant fund. My offer letter doesn’t explicitly state my role/position, it is nyc based, and that it’s full time. It also doesn’t provide benefits breakdown, just a blanket statement that I’m eligible. I’ve spoken to the recruiter about these items, but general response is that this is standard for the company. To me this is all very strange and I feel it should be defined more. Does this sound normal to others? Can’t tell if i should push on this more or leave it.
