Make a bingo board for yourself about the ridiculous things this person does repetitively - once you make it a game, it’s less annoying. Unfortunately I’ve found that usually people with those personality traits don’t usually change.

How do these children get jobs?

Because there’s really nothing you can do to change someone who gets off on this kind of behavior, you could try a project. Look up conditioning and counter-conditioning for dogs. Adapt it to your boss

Throughout our legal careers, we’re told to reach out to the partner (or mid/senior assoc if available) if we have questions.

I’m a second year L&E lit associate and the partner wants us running point on all our cases. However, he literally never responds to questions I have on case handling/strategy, and is super vague when he does answer questions

Is this normal? If so, aside from just badgering him (which annoys him), what can I do?

Venting… I had a PC reach out last week for services (commercial real estate) who proceeded to tell me that their project is going to make me the “gold standard” , so rich and etc. further they wanted me to send them a plan of everything needed for all the phases of development and an estimated cost. The call completely drained me and rubbed me the wrong way. Then they brought up my age and me being younger, saying it’s an opportunity of a life time. It felt extremely condescending.

What are some subtle red flags to pass on working for a company/team?

Anybody here work in Canada? Specifically Vancouver? The cost of living here is outrageous, and I feel like I don't have a fair compensation. I'm currently making $75k with a $5k bonus as an EA with 6+ years experience, and 5+ years experience in my company's industry. Our company doesn't give out yearly inflation raises, so I feel like I'm falling behind. Is this fair, or should I be going after more? Can anyone in Vancouver, Seattle, Canada etc. shed some light on their salary?

I feel like I made a big mistake accepting my EA role at my company. I was told I would not be doing personal errands often for the CEO, but now I am picking his daughter up from school and getting his designer curtains custom hemmed. Coworkers have included me in their projects, & he is now removing me from those bc “they take up too much of my time”, when they are the only tasks I enjoy bc I am actually adding value to the company. Idk what to do bc he “seems to be my way or the highway”.

Hi,
When you give in your resignation by email (whether you spoke to your HM prior or not): does the date you send your email count as day 1 of notice period or

Thanks
