Bain & Company What is the likelihood of making SAC in September 2022 if I join as an AC on April 18th at Bain & Company? I am a senior consultant at EY with 3.5 years of experience in Data Analytics. Or is March 2023 more realistic? They told me 6 months for promotion but it seems like the two promotion cycles with my different start dates give me 4 or 9 months of experience, nothing in between. I’ll be joining in the private equity group which will be new for me.
Is their any criteria to get promotion in PwC in tech

Depending on your firm this is quite easy. The Big 4 are all fully structured and driven around employee growth to make $$. Set up time with the people you want to talk with (formal coaches, informal coaches, project team members, etc) askingnfor feedback early on. "I am interested in preparing this year for promotion. Can we meet to talk about recommendations on how I should improve to be prepared for that level?"
Make sure they know that's what the meeting is about before and that they have at least a couple days to think about it so you get more tailored and quality answers. With project team it is then an opportunity to ask for demonstrable activities that show your readiness (eg doing finance, participating in sales, etc)
And for context, looking at a aiming for promotion in the next year.
Does tour firm have standard goals for junior practitioners. For instance, it’s normal for people to spend 2 years as C at Deloitte and move to SC unless they totally screwed up. Knowing your metrics and how you stand against your peers will be a good start.
