If your partner has any spine, they would tell that client to get f*cked.

I’m looking at buying an apartment as an investment that is down the street from my house. Newly renovated, Good location, close to shopping and a soon to be opened light rail station.
Challenge is that with 25% down and almost 7% interest, the all in costs (mortgage, taxes, insurance, small HOA fee) would have me breaking even or maybe negative $100 a month vs rent roll.

I am thinking about being slightly upside down for a couple of years until I slowly raise rent. Is this a crazy idea?

I really need help from everyone here: I am a tax senior, and I have offer from both EY and MNP. I was at Deloitte earlier and I am not sure which to pick. Same package/benefits. While EY is a great firm and the partners are amazing and all experiences of Big4 and it's resources, MNP has this charm of a Canadian firm and great culture. I don't know much but people say MNP is a great organization. The people I will work with are all amazing to speak during interview. What to do now?

Our firm is establishing our target billable %'s at a small public accounting firm. Is there a website that gives target billable time % by staff level for the tax and accounting industry? Just started poking around the AICPA website, but would appreciate being able to save some time looking for it. I'm used to a lower % rate than what's being proposed (70% vs 85%) and don't want to cause undue pressure on staff, but do want to give a reasonable billable hours expectation going forward.

True or false: KPMG senior tax leadership is delusional when it comes to accepting our new environment and ability to work remotely.

Personally, love being in the office, think it is better for your career, and have been back nearly everyday, but the fact of the matter is some people don't want this and will likely choose to go somewhere else. Couple this with the fact that its been difficult to find good talent right now and we're in for a bloodbath before/during compliance busy season.
