They are pretty fair as far as salary offers. However, always negotiate. That is my number one rule

Did 4 rounds of interviews. Last 2 with 2 partners at EY. Haven’t heard back even after 1 month. One partner even commented “you will be a good addition to the team”. Hiring manager gave EY email after her interview call with me.
Fast forward two weeks, no communication. Recruiting was surprised that I was still chasing for this position, month later. Got to know last week that hiring team was continuing to interview candidates. Should I drop the idea to get hired? EY hasn’t rejected me yet.

Recently graduated with an MA and was excited to work remote as a strategist or analyst at the big name agencies. Suddenly, no one seems to be hiring remote anymore, and I’m repeatedly being asked to relocate and come in person.

I know my work is doable remote. I’ve been doing it well for two years at various agency internships. Is it unrealistic to stick with the remote dream and keep searching, or do I cave and consider relocating?

A few questions here:
1) Is the Amazon brand better than Walmart that's worth $80K in TC?
2) Are Strategy roles better perceived than Marketing roles and will have higher long-term pay potential? (I went to business school where almost everybody wants to do Strategy...)

Not giving first number is a frequently mentioned tip but it’s not always good advice. I know several people who followed this rule and simply got offered lowballs with slight to no room for negotiation.

If you have some data on possible ranges, I think it’s better to give the number you want first. I’ve had recruiters say they can’t meet that and we don’t proceed, saving us both time. And if they can, then it’s less likely to be lowball.

Do you adhere to not giving a number first?

How do I get a raise? I’ve never asked for a raise before. I work in the movie industry and it’s kind of slow season now. My boss and I are close so I don’t know how to be professional and ask. Honestly, I feel bad asking for a raise because I get so much flexibility at work. I’m taking, getting paid full time and working part time. I meet all my deadlines and show interest in growing. We used to be a team of 9 and downsized to 4 people. I was the newest person and they picked me so I’m grateful

I’ve been offered a position that I’m really excited about. Their initial offer was 10K more than the top of the salary range they gave me for the position when I asked during the interview process and at the top end of the salary requirements I set for myself. My partner thinks I should still negotiate for more even though I’m happy with the offer. Am I an idiot if I don’t negotiate in this case? Realistically, I don’t think I’d get much more than that, but should I negotiate out of principle?
