I’m having a hard time staying motivated this month and next our kinda slow months for us. I don’t have a ton of billable work (neither do my peers) we have some trainings but not enough to take up the whole day. How do you stay motivated and engaged during off season ?

I work at a small firm with not that many workable templates so I usually have to do everything from scratch like drafting motions, pleadings, and researching all potential counts every time. Do bigger firms have better and more templates that allow you to have to do less research?

I want to create a data visualization portfolio, but I’m not sure where to begin. I work in urban planning and wanna do more urban analytics kind of stuff. Does anyone have any pointers for me as to where to begin and what all different types of visualizations I should be aiming to include? I’ve used R and Excel for this so far. My initial approach was to get approval for the desktop screens, before creating screens for tablet and mobile, to prevent rework.
