Does anyone have experience with placing their bar license on inactive mode in California?

I'm going to be out of the country until late summer of 2021 and I'd rather pay the inactive bar dues (~$200 compared to ~$500).

I'd like to weigh the pros and cons of this.
- Is there a disadvantage for clerkships?
- Will I have to catch up on a gazillion CLEs or just the ones from the current year (the balance for which I'll be active)?

Hello people... I am currently serving my notice period in Infosys. About 35 days left in notice period. Infosys giving me 4.3 LPA and the other companies from which I got offer giving me 6.5 and 7.
7 is offered by one of Big 4 companies. But I think I am under paid here as well.
But Now even when I only have 35 days left I am not getting any call from naukri.. Can anyone suggest CTC we can expect in current market for 2.5 yoe with good skillsets in SQL, POWERBI, SSIS etc..?

A question for the associates:
How should I talk to a new associate on my team (4 mos.) about critical issues including 1) spending too much time on a single project; 2) not meeting expectations in terms of number of billable hours; 3) botching easy procedural issues? This person has significant skills and writes very well. But their work is consistently turned in at the last minute, they have to be corrected on procedures regularly, and they never come talk to me without an invitation.

Anyone’s firms on here asking them to work from home because of the virus? Mines only sent out a pamphlet and asked us to wash our hands via email this morning. I work in South Florida.

I applied for a government attorney job in September and got an interview. In late October I was told I wasn’t the top choice but was on the list and would definitely get the job eventually. There are many attorneys there who have that position. So it’s not like I’m waiting for one specific attorney to retire. I was told last week that there probably wouldn’t be an opening for me before March. Have other people had to wait a long time for a government job opening?

Maybe this is an unpopular opinion, but I think that long-arm statutes are terrible for our system. You shouldn't be able to file in the state that you live in. As a policy matter, I feel the default should always be where the defendant lives unless the contract states otherwise.
