Does anyone have familiarity with ElasticSearch?? I just learned about it and would love to discuss. How have you seen this system implemented around you? I’m so excited - this is how search engines are so responsive 😩

Not necessarily directly, but very familiar with many data lakes/log repositories that are built off of it. It definitely makes log analysis a dream!

Elastic is great. Variations of it are pretty popular in security because you can send logs from a bunch of different sources and correlate them in one place. So for example you can see exactly what’s happening at two different places, applications, etc. at the same time (using timestamps) and see if it’s related or connected. Really helpful when looking at interconnected systems. The underlying tech ElasticSearch uses is open sourced and you can build your own in a lab with the right equipment. Definitely take a look at “ELK stacks” if you haven’t already

I have been considering going back to school but I left active duty 15 years ago and my Post 9/11 expired this summer.

Either way, I'm curious if anyone would know why I only received 25 months of education benefits. I was 100% active for 4 years, 3 deployments to Iraq, honorable discharge etc. And wondering if there is any way to extend my benefits and get the 36-48 months that seems to be standard.

Hi recruiters! I am hoping a few people can share the salary range you’re seeing for a Director of Product Training position in a large software company. I’m seeing between $135k and $180k depending on YOE, scope of responsibilities, etc. I am negotiating a promotion opportunity and want to get more accurate data.

How many students have you been put with this year? I started out with 140 students for English 11 and then got class swapped with 4 other classes before 2nd quarter started to end up with 157 students. Does this happen alot? I'm in my 7th year of teaching and getting the hint of abuse of power.

I love it when students make me laugh. I feel like it strengthens our connection so much. I wish I did it more. When was the last time you laughed with your students, and what was it about?

Put in my notice partially due to feeling undervalued by the org not my boss who is great. Turns out I was going to be promoted at the end of the month they just hadn’t announced it yet. New job pays a lot more but would be a level down from this promotion. Feeling conflicted. There are some other issues at my current company but they are actively working to address. Backing out of the offer I accepted would definitely burn a bridge. Honestly not sure what I want to do. Both companies are F25

Anyone hit this morning on the Jordan birthday restock?

I am purchasing a home and my boyfriend wants in on the deal as a co-owner. It is only me on the mortgage. We are planning on writing up a co-ownership agreement with a 60%/40% split and yes he will be paying 40% of the mortgage, down payment, and property taxes etc. He wants to be on the title as a tenant in common to reflect that %. Is that fair? I just want to make sure I’m protected but I also understand that if he’s paying all this money, he wants some security as well

How do you set your career on an upward trajectory in growth start up companies where experience and historical titles are not correlated? How do you gain influence as someone without a fancy title but plenty of contributions (which is thankfully noticed)?
