Any good resources to check out in preparation for an interview at Oliver Wyman? Courses / websites / books, I’m looking on how to best prepare.
Anyone have wireless in-ear headphones/ear buds recommendations? I want to be able to talk on the phone/travel with them but also run so I don’t want them to be noise cancelling or fall out easily.
I feel trapped. We work hard, break glass ceilings, put in all the blood, sweat and tears needed to "make it". Usually twice as fast, with a babe on a hip - cooking, running a call. I'm over 50, solo and a parent & over the rat race. I've been putting out feelers and feeling the over 50 burn. I don't need to lead the world - a small piece would be nice, ok money. Fun people, easy roll, smart work, build smart people - cool teams. I get "you'll be bored here - we can't afford you". What2do?
I’ve been in the same city for too long and want to move, but my agency is getting into a hybrid model. I feel like I missed the timeframe to jump cities during covid and need advice on how to navigate the conversation with my manager. Has anyone been able to do this recently without having to get a new job?
What firms are doing really cool / innovative stuff in the area of Organization Design / Operating Model? (Not B4 / ACN / MBB)
Leaving the firm and the country. What do I do with my 401k? Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Don’t plan on returning to the US anytime soon and I’m in my late 20s.
Interviewing for jobs honestly sometimes feel like the hunger games where only one person survives the fight
Planning for a family (of 4) trip to either Greece or Portugal in late fall this year. Flight costs are almost same. Any pointers as to which one would provide biggest bang for the buck? We're mostly laid back, don't care for top end luxury, not great hikers. Just looking a relaxing vacation.
Applied to a very cool job with EY today. Checked off every box on their requirements. It was a job I have been trying to get into for months now, and finally it was an open position on their career site. It took them 31 minutes to send me a rejection email. What am I doing wrong?
I just learned that my younger adult sibling has been severely, deeply depressed. This surfaced when sib said they needed help moving and the family showed up to find that the entire apartment was under 3-4ft of trash, including a significant amount of rotten food. (Sib has no sense of smell due to past medical issues.) We are floored. Sib is very private and no one knew. With COVID, no one has been in the apartment. Sib’s supposed to be moving across the country, and we’re worried…
Rant: The job search is super draining. Seeing people getting interviews and offers to higher caliber firms makes me wonder what’s wrong with me. I have referrals and wrote the best resume I could.
How was your mental health before advertising?
Hi SF community, Does SF offer RSU, signing bonus or counter offers for sales position offers? And would you recommend joining SF with a salary cut?
Help me pick. Corporate strategy at global FMCG, potential to exit into P&L ownership or equivalent role in 2-3 years. Equivalent to “head of”/director title. People are smart but no ego, and role would serve category/geo leaders as well as exco. 16% pay cut but a true 9-6 and industry-leading benefits. 75 min commute till Dec and then 30 min after new office. Head of strategy/innovation at midsize regional insurtech in “scaleup” mode. Potential to exit into major role in 2 years CONT
Just got a big raise (50%+) starting July 1st that is going to move me out of income limits for direct Roth IRA contributions (prior to raise was under the limit) even with maxed pretax 401k and HSA - however I am already halfway through contributions ($3000). What options do I have to address these excess contributions?
Has anyone ever had to reshoot an entire spot because of a technical error? I guess insurance exists for a reason 🙃
