Hi! Sharing here, love to connect:
My dream side job is working at YSL. I have 1 year of retail experience. Is it possible to get a job there? Any advice on getting hired is really appreciated, thanks
Is anyone worried about layoffs?
Trying to decide if whole or term life is better for additional coverage. Any input appreciated.
Has anyone transitioned from partnership tax to another internal group (i.e. consulting)? Was the switch worth it?
Compliance doesn’t interest me like it used to and Partnership tax experience alone really limits exit opportunities.
Is it too late to get experience in another group if you’re already a manager?

has anyone used owning.com? I am looking to refinance my 30 year 4.0% rate. I was looking at better dot com for a 20 year but owning has 2.99% with no closing costs. scam?
Can anyone from BDO core tax team in the NYM area give insight to what it’s like? Do you do both provision/compliance work? Is technology up to par? What’s the firms approach on working in the office going forward? Most importantly what’s comp look like at the senior level? (I know raises are getting announced later this month) appreciate any insight. Thanks
This is an absolutely ridiculous question, but how do you manage to go number 2 in the office with shared bathrooms!? It’s literally the pain of my existence. Help
All Chartered Engineers, specifically Mechanical Engineers. How high can your salary get in the UK if you become chartered and with the right company? £100k a fair ask? Is £200k+ possible??
For those fishes who managed to get their green card after h1b, curious as to how long the actual process took for you (PERM -> I140 -> USCIS decision)? Trying to gauge if I should make plans and leave the US or wait it out
How do you deal with family members who do not take care of themselves (exercise, eat well, etc) ? [continued]
It has arrived!
Hi! Happy Friday! So I would like to ask for some pointers…I am looking for a side gig to keep my skills sharp and also make extra money, I am very good at data clean up in Salesforce using ETL tools. Anyway, if you guys can point me on where I can find some consulting or side gigs cleaning up or structuring data, I did that for 3 years implementing Salesforce and pivoted to demo’ing so don’t get to do a lot of that anymore 😊 thank you ahead of time!
How do you deal with extreme changes that affect the way you do your role? I have expressed how these drastic changes have affected my work productivity and how I see myself hitting my goals but it seems to be viewed as more complaining than expressing my concerns with managing a new sector that has not been done before.
FYI I am the only one on my team with the prior experience managing influencer marketing.

Does your attorney give you cash bonuses throughout the year when he/she does well? If yes, approximately how much on average? Scale of 1-10 how much harder do you work after the bonus (0= same/no change; 10=much harder/money is motivating)
I’m looking for advice on finding a new job as a paralegal. I just recently got my paralegal certificate in May 2021 and have been working as a paralegal for a Sole Practitioner since August, but had to make the decision to leave because I’m not making enough money to support myself. I have experience in Plaintiff’s work doing mostly personal injury, but have handled other types of cases, too. I don’t have much experience in this field thus far and would appreciate any advice I can get.
Does anyone have any advise on White & Case? Environment wise is it professional? No screamers? Are the lawyers and partners nice?
Hey there! I’m moving to the NJ/NYC area in a month or two and looking for friends. Idk anyone in the area. I’m a Black male (African), 33 y/o; Muslim; like and play soccer; an introvert trying to get out of my comfort zone; I like hanging out at park and at the beach. Looking to meet people from different backgrounds and cultures. DM me or comment let’s connect!

How does one approach management about performance reviews? In every position I’ve had prior to my current one, reviews have been organized by management, and fairly regular, but I’ve been at my current firm for almost three years now, and have had one meeting to discuss performance. More to the point, I’d like to discuss my salary and feel a bit awkward bringing that up given the irregularity of these sorts of meetings.
Are there any paralegals here currently going to law school (either part time or full time) and working full time? What’s the work/life/school balance like? The idea is something I’ve been considering for a while now and I want to know if I’m starring down the barrel of divorce and financial ruin, or if this is something that is actually achievable.
Is it appropriate to follow up after interviews to ask why you were not selected? And/or ask for feedback so that you can develop and improve professionally?
I've had SEVERAL interviews since February, and I keep getting rejected and it's starting to leave me feeling discouraged. I've been in my current position for just over 3 years and in the industry for around 4 years and have a bachelor's in Legal Studies. The positions I've applied to all vary in nature.
So I've been tasked with talking to our expert in a case to get details on his opinion, ask questions about his report, and discuss what he may have to do as the case progresses. I'd already rather the attorney be doing this, but whatever. I want to record the call just so I can take my notes from it and make sure I dont miss anything and then delete it, but wouldn't such a recording be discoverable? And then wouldn't deleting it then be destroying discoverable information?
Is being a corporate paralegal challenging? What do the responsibilites entail? Any corporate paralegals work for a hedge fund?
Hey all, anyone know of any corporate paralegal, or legal analyst roles in your companies hiring? I currently manage over 125 lit cases and the burnout is real! I don’t mind a heavy work load, but feel this is an extreme. Am I wrong?
Do any of you end up with days that you have no assignments? Do you become paranoid or do you relax about it? I am 4 months in a new position which was supposedly very needed.
What’s the salary range right now for in-house senior paralegals and legal ops professionals? Negotiating a raise and finding it’s between $60k up to $140k depending on location and company. Zero consistency. Thanks!
How have you broke the news to your boss that you’re looking to make a career change and leave the practice? I am the Sr. Paralegal at my firm (7+ years) and work for a solo practitioner in a very busy wage & hour class action practice. We have one other legal assistant and law clerk. I don’t want to burn bridges, but after seeing how he gave the cold shoulder to his paralegal of 10+ years after going on maternity leave and never coming back, I don’t see how I can’t expect the same treatment.
What are some really good questions to ask at the end of an interview? Have you found asking specific questions has always led to a second interview?

Any advice to recent college grads for landing an entry level paralegal job? I’ve been asked and I did that so long ago I don’t know what else is helpful besides sending in your resume!
