Simon Sinek! I’d start with “Start With Why” but it seems like you’ll benefit most from “Leaders Eat Last.” I also appreciate Seth Godin’s perspective. Not as specifically geared towards leadership, but his podcast is insightful (Akimbo) and you can also sign up for daily emails from his blog that are short and sweet and sometimes revelatory.

Jocko willing extreme ownership - he applies Navy seals principles to business situations. Not the greatest writing but content is really good. He has a podcast too but a bit long.

Hi Ladies! I’m transitioning to a manager of a team I’ve been leading. There’s been a lot of turnover with the team and I feel like I’m having a hard time getting the team to see me more as an authoritative figure. For example, when I ask for volunteers on a simple task, no one replies. Should I just resort to assigning rather than asking? Also are there leadership books you suggest that I could read up on? Thank you!

Has anyone moved from a H/MCOL city to a small town or rural area? Any regrets in regards to career progression, networking, or lack thereof? I'm thinking of making the move this winter in order to cut my housing expense by more than half and to put my daughter in better Catholic school. My employer doesn't care where we live so long as we can get to an airport. I grew up in a small town, so it wouldn't be a shock to me, just worried about how it may affect my career trajectory.
