Does anyone have tips for growing wealth? I am 26 years old and have always just stuck to the S&P500 and looking to diversify!

You should diversify into something different and profitable, I have couple of opportunities at hand.

You are doing great! Slow and steady wins the race. At your age it makes sense to be 100% equities.

If you want to diversify further, consider a total market fund instead of just S&P500 (VTI vs VOO). It will include small/mid cap. But they generally perform the same anyways so no need to over-think this.

You can also add international equities (e.g. VXUS). I am 80% US and 20% international. It has lagged behind US in the recent decade but there was a time when it was the other way around. No way to know so I just diversify across both.

like

S&p500 is diversified. At 26, keep investing in that. If you really want diversity there’s non-US equities, crypto (which I don’t like), real estate, and then other things like art. S&P return has been pretty good. The trouble is that most things are correlated to the stock market. market goes up, rich people have more money to buy art, or boats or real estate.

How does $19,500 401k participant contribution limit differ from $57,000 defined contributions limit (all sources, employee + employer)?

In addition to pre-tax, I do post-tax 401k contributions. And I see online they “some plans allow employee to make after-tax contributions once the 2020 $19.5k contribution limit is hit, up to limit of $57k”

So once I hit the $19.5k, I can do up to $57k (including employee contributions), but in excess of $19.5 needs to be post tax. Correct?
