I failed 2 in college. Went to work for a regional firm in audit, then got a referral.

like

how long did you work at regional

I failed a couple of times in college for the B4 positions. After I had a 2 regional firm internships, I was able to get the my PwC role coming out of college. I would say the B4 likes to see good GPA, but experience will trump GPA.

I got rejected by EY and the other Big 4 as an undergrad. Ended up going to a regional firm and then later to the Big 4. Ended up as a partner at EY in the same office that originally rejected me. The audit partner that was in charge of recruiting when I originally interviewed was in the office next to mine. It’s a crap shoot and a lot depends on the needs of the office at the moment. Also, when I switched to the Big 4 I had tax technical skills that were in demand

By failed interviews do you mean applying and not getting hired? I got denied twice before getting hired by EY

In college I applied to and interviewed with EY+ Deloitte + PwC all multiple times and didn’t get an internship offer until like my 3rd try. By then I had done a Grant Thornton advisory internship which boosted my resume a bit. But no they definitely don’t remove your app from the system if they deny you once. I talked to my schools EY recruiter frequently and kept asking her what I could do to better my chances for the next round of hiring, and eventually I got an offer

I applied 3 times to PwC, several other times to all the other big 4 and a few other times to some regional firms before getting hired by PwC. Out of all the job applications I only got 2 interviews one for a regional firm and the one at PwC which was the only one that eventually led to a job offer. I guess technically I only failed one interview, but didn’t even make it that far many many other times.

~4 months ago I had a corp strategy interview at Tmobile. The case question was “should we enter the video streaming market?” After going through the case I concluded that no they shouldn’t. At the end of the interview they let me know that they haven’t publicly announced it yet but they actually are entering the market (with Tvision). Lo and behold I didn’t get the next interview. Today they announced they’re shutting it down. 😂

Hi everyone! I recently accepted a new job with a Big 4 and am also newly engaged. I have a couple of concerns… the main one being that I may not have enough time off for 2022 to cover taking off for the wedding, honeymoon, and then a couple of other weddings where I’m supposed to be a bridesmaid. Do you think there would be any wiggle room with managers allowing time off, or is it generally pretty strict? (Continued in comments)

Is it normal for teams to lose it on each other on a regular basis? I’m fairly new to the B4 and never experienced it at former firms. It starts at the top and it’s starting to take a toll on my performance. Not sure if I need to suck it up and deal with it or start thinking about changing teams. TIA

How do I answer “why are you leaving Deloitte” in an interview without trashing my current job? The truth is that Deloitte has low pay, uninteresting work, and extremely slow career progression with little opportunity to differentiate oneself from peers, so I am looking at other firms which don’t have those issues.

Hi fishes :) Need some suggestions from the PWC peeps. My directorial round with PWC is scheduled for tomorrow. Any suggestions please? What are the probable questions will be? I've asked for 12LPA but they said the budget is 9LPA..I've 6.5yrs of experience as a BA & scrum master (ctc : 6.55 LPA) What do you all suggest? Shall I consider pwc as It's a part of BIG 4 and other facilities and brand-value or capegemini/Cerner india (the pay scale will be higher most probably) Thanks in advance.

Folks, any advice on applying for jobs at a previous client? As a firm we have great relationships with the senior client leadership and I am afraid that the GEP and my RL will eventually find out when I submit my job application. On the other hand, if I tell my RL prior to applying, I will probably end up towards the top of “people to be laid off” list.

In a world of remote consulting work…. How long can the US maintain its high premium over European and, esp. developing market consulting? Both price tag to clients and significantly higher salaries for the people. I imagine may move faster at Big 4, etc. than MBB, but within MBB the huge cost and salary differentials feel… increasingly hard to maintain (even though I think the differential has actually gotten bigger, not smaller in the last two years). Thoughts?

People who came to the US on L1B, and successfully switched jobs (assuming visa switch from L1B to H1B), could you please share your experience or provide any useful tips? Feeling stagnant and trapped at my current job partly due to visa restrictions and ofcourse the pandemic situation. Looking to jump ship but not even sure if it's possible on an L1B.
