Hi everyone! Anyone in PwC’s Value Creation able to help and discuss qualifications required? I’m looking for a role in which I can use my Ops and manufacturing background for topics such as supply chain, cost reduction, performance improvement and Six Sigma to help increase value. I’m looking at the experienced associate level - could anyone refer if there is a match and or need? Also, is this Advisory or Strategy&? Thank you all! PwC

PMP here also got it from PMI.
Yeah you need specific number of PMing hours, and then just find a certified place that gives you the course hours. The test is not hard, but it is theoretical.
It’s from PMI the project management institute. The test isn’t hard.
Thank you! Do you recommend taking any paid training prior? I don't have structured PM experience. And is it worth becoming a member of PMI? Does it provide job search/placement assistance?
PMP here from PMI. I went to an in-person boot camp to prepare; this was before Covid lockdowns.
It is better if you are already a PM and understand and use the concepts every day at your job.
I understand that there have been one or two major updates to the exam since I took it several years ago.
I took the “new test” if you’re a PM it’s still not that hard even though they supposedly made it harder.
Have my PMP from the PMI and took the exam earlier this year before they went from PMBOK Ed 6 to 7. The main changes are the focus on agile concepts. Exam was long, took it at a testing center. Definitely requires studying and prep, especially if you haven’t taken exams in a while.. ~3-4hours of testing focus is draining. Less challenging now that there aren’t really any formula based questions that you have to purely memorize.
Side note. They do audit the applications as I’ve had colleagues who PMI checked their 36mos of experience. Also I didn’t exactly follow the PMBOK functional areas when writing my application and they sent back my app and had me redo. They’re pretty strict so read thru the application guidelines in detail.
Wow that's good to know! I have over 36 months of experience, that shouldn't be an issue. Downloading PMBOK PDF is the way to go then? Any other free resources for studying? How many hours would you say is good prep? Sorry for the micro questions
