Does anyone here starting to feel like they're in an online dating world when it comes to recruiters ghosting you? loll

Is it common for recruiters to reach out to potential new hires, give job description, get on a quick call, ask for resume, and then get ghosted by them?

Y'all got similar experience(s) and any suggestions on how to avoid those type of recruiting practices?

Yeah this just happened to me last week LOL

I’m kinda at the point now where I think most recruiters are worthless. They are just so terrible. We need to see a industry wide change where perhaps hiring managers take over the process for hiring away from recruiters or maybe even an AI system would do better than these recruiters.

Happens all the time. So frustrating.

Yes, that happens a lot. And just like in the online dating world, it's best to keep several options open and not dwell on anyone who ghosts you.

Get on a call with them. Discern an honest opportunity or a bait situation by the knowledge of the role sought, communications with the employer, reasons the role is open, etc. Vague answers are a giveaway.

Lol this is so bloody accurate

It's happening to me a lot! Starting to think it's like some weird kind of corporate spy stuff.

I’m considering an AGC position at a small but growing startup. The company is based in NY but everyone is working remotely. I would be 1 of 2 attorneys. Any thoughts on what I might expect as a comp offer and what’s fair? I’ve been in-house in a Director level position for 2 years, and I have 7 total years of experience as an attorney, mostly doing litigation prior to moving in-house. I’m hoping for a decent salary boost but not sure what’s reasonable for small startups (approx. 100 employees).

For any real estate investors

22 years old and currently focused on using my left over income to invest and pay off my debt. I am set to pay off my college loans by next year and, when I do, I want to look into investing into real estate. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get into/learn more about real estate investing? Or how I can have enough knowledge on the topic to be able to invest wisely when the time comes?

Any books? youtubers? etc. How did you all learn about it?

This busy season has taking everything I had left in me, plus some. I basically sit at my desk and cry at least once a day. Working 15 hrs and no break.. idk how to make it to deadline.
So, what do you do? I know deadline is in 2 weeks, and I’m doing my best to ‘suck it up’ until then but deeply worried I’m being driven deeper and deeper into depression.
Any advise would be appreciated.

Hey guys,

I have a second round (out of 3) with Bain coming up. Overall, scored quite high and was just told to be more answer driven, which I am working on.

Did a couple of cases but really feel burnt, no real added values in the ones I do now.

Any insights or advice on what to prepare for round 2? What are my chances if the first round went well with the Consultants?

Its in Europe FYI. I've also nailed the prep for fit, with different situations in a STAR format.

I am working in two jobs and have health insurance from both jobs. I am curious what if I claim money for the same treatment from both insurance? Basically I will be claiming same amount twice. Will it be considered fraud? Or is it okay since I am paying some amount of premiums for both. Also will the insurance company A find out that I have already claimed that treatment from company B?

I am aware that i can merge both insurance policies and claim unpaid amount.
