Does anyone here use Gusto to get paid? I am new to a position and was curious what your thoughts are. My issue is today is my payday and it’s saying my funds will be deposited by 5 pm today. The first time I got paid it was first thing in the morning. Now I check my account every hour or so to see if the money has been deposited. I am so not use to this and I don’t like it.

Yeah I did a temp job with this solo b.tch (another story for another day) and she used gusto.

It would come at different times all the time. Apparently they (the employer) can pay for same day deposits- which is likely what’s happening today. Your employer just hasn’t submitted it for processing yet. You’ll get it by end of day.

Gusto is okay- I know that the people who use the payroll have to submit it early to get paid. I used Gusto for a temp agency at WHITE and Case. One week I got paid late because of the holiday, was not happy….if you not getting paid today most likely Monday.

It’s alright, I had to use it when I was at a boutique firm. Where are you at?

Thanks. I don’t want to out myself. It’s a small firm with a ton of cases and extremely unorganized. I didn’t know if Gusto is a product of the environment.

No..never heard of it. Learn something new, everyday.

I have never heard of Gusto.

I’ve always wanted to be in a position to help my family but we all live in the high COL city so my salary doesn’t carry me as far as it would elsewhere. I’ve given a detailed summary of all of my expenses yet every month one family member in particular comes to me for rent money (not some, the full amount, and they refuse to get a job). It has become quite the burden.

Hi Fishes,
Need help with a tax query.

I am earning 85k/month now. Thinking to purchase a land of around 15L, not just for investment but to build our own house on it in future.

Though I can somehow manage it without taking a land loan. But I was wondering if I can take some to avail tax benefits.

So my doubts are - Can I avail tax benefits (like home loan) before construction? If I take the loan just to enjoy tax benefits then how much loan should I take at most? Have only ~68k EPF in 80C

I have a job offer for home health PT in the Chicagoland suburbs. The owner stated the wages depend on how I file my taxes- which threw me off guard. A w9/1099 would most likely be a higher wage but I am not interested in filing that way.

My clients are pushing back on it this year, and I can't say I blame them. If I were in their shoes, I'd rather take the risk of not filing than the expense of filing again. From my own point of view, I don't really want to spend my time on such returns, either, even if the revenue and easy return are nice.

With social security potentially running out, why couldn’t it be an option for the govt to put $5k for every baby that is born in a year into an account Invested in a govt share class S&P 500 fund. Historical average is 10%+, which would provide roughly $2.7 million for a baby born today. Eventually, this would eliminate the need for soc sec tax, and would only cost $18 Billion a year instead of several trillion a year being deposited into the trust.

Happy Halloween! Hope everyone stays safe today. It has been two months since my last role at a law firm. I had only gotten one interview or no callbacks since then.

I am unsure if my resume is wrong in terms of not tailoring my resume or working for multiple law firms for a few months due to being hired through a recruiting agency.

What should I do to get more callbacks/interviews? Should I reach out to HR/Recruiter directly? Should I get a paralegal cert? Should I do the programs on Forage?

I’m currently working at a law firm in San Diego specializing in coastal property rights as a litigation paralegal and legal assistant. So how do you post an injunction bond?
