EY KPMG Deloitte
Hi all,
I have two campus EY Deloitte on the table from Deloitte Tax (BTS), and EY Tax (DSG). Both are located in the SF Bay Area. Deloitte is paying 2k higher base and a 2k higher bonus.
I have to make my decision by the end of next week, so I’d appreciate some input and opinions on which offer I should take.

Legally? If you have a contract with a company that says you will provide a certain notice and you don’t and the company incurs damages as a result of your breach of contract could you be found liable? Yes. Will the pursue it? Generally not but it would be their right to.
If you’re an at will employee with no specifics in the contract then there is no requirement to furnish a specific notice and therefore no breach.
It depends entirely on your employment agreement. Most these days are “at will”. They can fire you whenever and you can leave whenever. No notice required. That said, its pretty bad form to quit with no notice and your name will make its rounds.
The key is reading your contract. Mine said that I am an at will employee and that I do not have the obligation to give a notice, but a 2 week notice would be nice (as a courtesy). I gave them 1 week notice and explained that for financial reasons (a bonus that I would get 6 months later, which I would not get if I missed the cutoff period) and personal reasons ( going on my already planned vacation) I would not be able to give them the full 2 w notice. They didn’t like it but they understood.
No matter how they look at you or what they of you, remember that your interest is most important to you, just as theirs is most important to them. Be as fair as you can be and do what’s best for you
I know that is a thing in Europe and Canada but not in the US
So curious about this since fortress has a 90 day notice period 😂😂
I have heard of clauses in contracts where they don't pay out remaining PTO if you don't give notice.
Does fortress give 90 days notice when they fire?
I don't work at Fortress so I don't know what their contract says, but someone else might know, and since they actually do have a well known 90 days notice policy for people who quit:

I was just curious if they provide a similar amount of notice when they let people go. I don't know why this is a stupid question.

Depends on what your contract says. Unless your at-will employment contract has something unusual (that you agreed to), nothing they can do
I think depends on the state. I live in a right to work state which means I can leave with notice and there is no penalty.
