Me. Idk it seems really overwhelming with all the pressure to make yourself known in the “ohana”, “salesforce ecosystem” and also the pressure of getting certifications which are basically a thorough money-making model before anything else! And then there is also the pressure of keeping yourself updated on all these fast paced updates and new features coming in..
The certs are on par with other vendors. If they were free they’d have no value (like Trailhead badges).
I actually like the culture. Trailhead and help docs are amazing... No other product has self-learn and help resources like this. Also, once (if?) Salesforce becomes outdated/obsolete, they will still need people to help migrate out of it. So it's not like it'll go away instantly, and your skills will be needed for at least a few years after (if your smart, you'll use this time to learn something else)
That's all coming from someone who spent 1 year doing SF and switched to cyber security. Take what you will
I agree. I really enjoy trailhead (even do it for fun sometimes). I think the culture they are going for is admirable especially when most companies don't even try
nope - got me to this company and got me $$$

Absolutely not. I tell everyone that I was at the right place at the right time when I fell into Salesforce.
Fell in around 2011. Perfect timing for an early career person post recession
My only concern is what happens when this becomes irrelevant

SAP and Oracle are still not irrelevant.
Jumping into Salesforce wagon is the best thing in my career!!!

No, it is not too late!
I got lucky to fall into salesforce. Eventually it will level off but this train still got lots of tracks left
@OP,
You can always find ways to feel left behind 😁
I remember in 2009 a college friend of mine who was at this company called Salesforce offered me to join and I shrugged because I didn't want to move to Cali or because it was going to be all remote or something like thay... Now he was at the principal level at SF years ago when I last checked.
And my other friends from college worked for Microsoft for years since mid-2000s and I didn't care for it because Seattle weather was horrible and I didn't know the difference in salary is more than just the base compensation difference... A few tens of thousands in bonus and more in stocks per year, that adds up.
Have I enjoyed a good life with WLB and also earned multiple times the median income of US? Yes. Am I hurting for cash? No. Shouldn't I be super happy instead of having regrets? Duh!
Road to 50 bUSD. Y’all think we are gone soon? Keep dreaming because we run the entire market. Clear yes, focus on salesforce and jump as quickly on it as you can
I regret not learning sooner
I could do other things, but SF has provided opportunities for me to combine my vast patchwork of experience into one high paying role. To replace this income in a non tech job would require me to move my family frequently and manage over 200 employees OR start a multi location business and have over $1MM in debt. I’ll ride this wave while it lasts and be ready for what comes next.

Not a second in my life. I’m making 160k base at 26, all thanks to SF!
Also with the added benefit that I’ve had the opportunities to have hands on experience with a number of different technologies (front and backend)

Yes a bit of Pardot as well, but yeah sure
Hello all,
I’m into Salesforce ecosystem since my masters days when I attended their first event. And I love working in the environment especially because there are plenty of resources to learn and keep updating yourself. I have a Bachelors in Computer Science and MBA in Marketing Analytics and 5+ years work ex. Now I have decided to make my career into SF- my recent experience has been in Tableau CRM, Datorama, MC and HC. I would love to connect with someone here who can help me to pave my way into Salesforce as I’m struggling a bit to find the right role for myself to apply for at the company.

Good luck!
