I did when I worked in house. Worked like a charm. Had columns for date we received/sent out subpoena, to/from whom, extension, due date, date sent/received

Yes, we kept detailed discovery matrices for complex lit, especially SB 800 claims out of construction defect cases. It was a must.

Yup, helps me keep track of it all!

Taking GMAT in 4 weeks. Target schools in order are 1) NYU 2) Columbia 3) MIT 4) Haas. Rank blasphemy I know but I want exposure to luxury retail industry. What score as an Asian American would you call safe / no retake required? Right now I’m thinking 730+ but would like other thoughts. Also, should I reschedule and push out? For reference, I scored a practice exam 600 4 weeks ago and 700 2 weeks ago. Doing a 3rd practice exam this weekend after honing on probability and tricky geometry

I’m a creative account manager working on the Brand side in house. I’ve been doing Brand for 3 months. The Brand area of my company is going to be expanding and I already have a lot of work on my plate.

I want to leave/find another company but with the amount of cool working coming in & seemingly the amount of people trying to break into Brand work, how long should I try to stick it out at my current company?

I’m currently making $104,000 as an HR Business Partner for a global tech firm of 1,000 people. I started with the company in November 2020, received 4/5 on my annual review this past year and received a 4% increase this spring. We recently added a few new heads to our Talent Acquisition team - The TA Lead and TA Specialist I come to find out are making $25,000 more than me. I’m extremely frustrated to say the least. I feel undervalued as an employee and taken advantage of. What should I do?

Anyone know a good paralegal headhunter for Boston/providence

I’m currently a bankruptcy paralegal. Not sure I want to stay in bankruptcy forever. I’ve heard it can be really hard to change practice types and break into a new area of law. Anyone have experience or tips/advice on doing so?

Have any of you ever left the conventional law firm job to go out on your own to do contract work? Details please: how did you get your clients? How do you bill? What type of law do you do?

I need some help. My company got bought out and i found out i am getting paid over 20k lower than my counterparts and i have more experience and a higher degree than them. Any suggestions on how to push for a raise? I have 8 years experience, a Paralegal Degree and a bachelors and i am told i am an asset to the company. I am in corporate law. Any help would be greatly appreciated

After a little over five years in Big Law, I was recruited for a boutique firm that promised a collegial culture and work/life balance. Surprise, it’s a sweatshop and the most toxic work environment I’ve ever worked in. Any recommendations for recruiters in NY? Are people generally lateraling or going in house now? Any advice is appreciated, thanks.

Hello! Hope everyone had a great weekend. I was thinking about getting a paralegal certificate before I apply for law school. I had several contract jobs in the legal field, but was never offered a contract extension.

I wanted to know if It is worth getting a paralegal certificate to get better legal job opportunities? If so, is it better to get a paralegal certificate from a community college better or at colleges such as UCLA and UCI? Or do employers not care if it is from a CC or UCLA/UCI

Does anyone have insight into Latham and Watkins? (Culture, comp, etc.) preferably if someone knows anything about their firms in the Bay Area but generally would also be lovely.

Looking to leave biglaw ASAP in Michigan! This billing mess is for the birds.

Hello all,

I have my first round interview with Holland and Knight LLP as a Title and Survey Paralegal and wanted to know if anyone has any insight on this firm and the position itself. TIA!

Hello! I hope everyone's weekend is going well.

I was wondering if it is a red flag if a legal recruiter from a law firm reaches out to me on the weekend for an in-person interview on the early weekday.

Thank you so much in advance! I really appreciate it!

Hi all, anyone familiar with Skadden in DC? Looking for any insight!

Are there any paralegals out there who don’t feel “less than” because you’re not an attorney? I would die to feel part of a team. If you work as a team in your firm, please let me know how you and your firm foster that!

In need of advice!!!
I recently received an offer from a bigger plaintiff’s firm and I accepted (due to start on the 26th). Today I received another offer to go in-house but my title would be Admin. Asst. (they are offering the same pay as the firm).

For context: firm is civil lit and the Admin. Asst. is in IP.

What should I do???

I have an interviews with Carr Allison and Hall Booth Smith next week. Anyone have any insight on the firms? Pros? Cons?
