I have tax provision experience. Worked for public for 3.5 years. And finishing my year in industry. I loved public because it had a more consulting role - interaction with clients, multiple teams, and variety in my work. Now that I am in industry, it’s more technical and less interactions with people in general. It has made me realize, I don’t think I actually like taxes. Has anyone faced a similar dilemma and what other opportunities did you pursue after? Also don’t want to be a senior foever
I would find a really good therapist that takes insurance. Look into one's that practice CBD (cognitive behavioral therapy). It will make a world of a difference. They can also help you strategize what's important to you and guide you.
I’d try and separate the two as much as I can, a therapist for your overall mental health. A mentor for your professional discomfort.
If not obvious, the best career advice often comes at the expense of mental health and you need to hear both sides in some way and make your call. There are too many what ifs , if someone is choosing trade offs for you.
There’s life after consulting and there’s life aside from consulting. Great advice above to separate the two (professional advice + mental health advice).
