Does anyone know about medical plans? PPO or high deductible? which is more cost friendly if you have a lot of healthcare coming up in the next year.

I’m insured by my husbands plan its PPO. And during pregnancy it was great just paid co-pays at the gyno of 20, and 2 lab fees $100 bc I wanted extra genetic testing, and hospital bill was 300 for the birth/delivery. His plan is great bc I dont need referrals if I want to go to a dr.

Dang that’s a good plan!

In my experience you will pay more for the PPO every month but might be worth it if you have huge expenses coming. Depends on how the HDHP policy is written- is everything covered 100% after the deductible is met?

If you assume you will hit out of pocket max then HDHP will save a few dollars. HDHP is $5,432.44 for premiums + OOP max of $7,400.00 =$12,832.44
PPO is $7,109.44 for premiums + OOP max of $6,000.00 =$13,109.44

PPO if you know you're going to have a lot of medical costs. High deductible won't cover as much as a PPO and in some cases, you might as well just pay cash. With a PPO, it should cover more expenses and hopefully save you some money

No joke! With my high out of picked deductible, I would have had to pay $15k to have my son AFTER INSURANCE. I ended up just paying cash out of pocket and it was $3k with an epidural.

How is Prescient Healthcare Group as a firm? What is WLB like? What do senior roles at director level look like? Professionalism? Brand? Compensation?

If your Home Healthcare Agency gets sold to a venture capital group, run, don’t walk away. Especially if you’re a manager.

I'm ready for the concept of plant-based diets to really go mainstream in this country. It would do wonders for our health outcomes.

I am a registered sales assistant which means I have my series 7. I also have the 63 and my Life & Health license. I was a financial advisor but the role is commission only so I decided to take a role as an assistant for some time to learn etc. I really like my role, but I only make 32k a year and after taxes I only take home about 25k. I have a gut feeling that I’m not being paid market value but it’s tough to find comparable salaries. Do you think $15.38/hr is a fair wage in this case?

Started a new job back in January. Creative Director, a team of 7. Went back & fourth in negotiating. Offered 110k. Asked for 120k, settled on 115k. I even threw in that I was taking a hit with benefits, needing to pay 5k more as compared to my position I was leaving. That’s how I got it to 115k. At my annual I plan to address again, in partnership with the impact this position will have made this past year. What do other creative directors earn, if you don’t mind sharing? Industry av says 136k

Looking for negotiation advice between these two offers for a Program Manager. Currently a Sr Project Manager in tech w/ 16 YOE, with PMP and CSM and SAFe certifications. First offer: contractor, USD $85/hour. Second offer: Full time CAD employment, $165k salary w/ a decent health benefits package and 4 weeks vacation. Which would you choose, or how would you negotiate between these two offers?

Anyone in the medical industry looking to trade protective and medical equipment? I have access to top manufacturers and specialize in supply shortages.

I’ve noticed that I am finding it hard to leave work “at work” and also not detaching myself emotionally from work. For example, if I send out a contract and it’s heavily marked up, I see red (no pun intended). Ill also think about it non stop until I provide my response (which is not good in am angered state. I’ve tried the standard coping mechanisms (count to 10, workout, etc.), but doesn’t help. Is this burnout? Any tips here?

Need advice:

I'm debating between a Deloitte USDC role as a Software Engineer for 100k + 5k bonus and a small but established private company for 110k, which is fully remote with no expectation that I have to move at some point. Health/Dental/Vision, 401k and PTO are pretty similar. I'm an experienced hire with ~5 years of relevant background and currently work on a small, independent team at a large aerospace company, so either job is going to be a bit different than what I know.

Looking for some advice/suggestions here. 24 years old, TC is now 110k. I have 40k cash savings. $6,500 in my 401k and $6,400 in Roth IRA. Just was promoted and wondering if that’s too much cash to hold onto AND if contributing to a Roth makes sense. I contribute 7% with 100% match and 10% profit sharing at the end of the year to the 401k. Contributing $550 a month to the Roth. Would appreciate any ideas as I know it’s a good spot but just wanted to see if it’s the smartest approach.
