Does anyone know anything about Connor Group? They are an accounting advisory group that hires B4 alumni.

I haven’t heard anything about them specifically but I have heard of other (probably similar) groups that only hire big 4 alumni. My experience seems to be that they promise a higher salary upfront, usually with some sort of bonus but in the long run your salary won’t increase with the consistency or ceiling of big 4.

Which market are you in? In the Bay Area they do a lot of transaction work. Solid people, but they appear to work more since they are always having to run from one fire to the next for management.

Salt Lake City, UT

Can vouch for a couple of their MDs - good people I would want to work with.

Had a friend go to Connor Group as a senior. She works regular hours (9-6) and gets to expense food. Salary bump was only 14%

I talked to some of their recruiters and it was a way better experience than other recruiters I've talked too.

Planing on moving to NYC in the next 3 years with my husband. Been looking at potential jobs that I may be interested in for when the time comes and a lot of the ones I’m interested in says “big four experience preferred.” I work for a regional PA firm and wanted to see what everyone’s thoughts are. If I stay at my current job, I’ll be manager by the time I leave for NYC or should I make the jump to B4 soon? Does “B4 preferred” outweigh my chances even if I’m a manager when comes down to it?

Looks like B4 partners makes the most $$ in the long run, even tech/FAANG or industry level senior roles doesn’t pay more then $600-700k, except a few roles like ceo/IB/PE/other financial roles/startup rsu (of u r lucky). Came to the conclusion after reading all the posts in this and other bowls. May be MBB, but if u add pensions, I think B4 is better. Thoughts?

Does anybody do a “work uniform” in the office? I’m new in an in-house role at a company that has dress for your day (primarily jeans), and I’m thinking about doing that when we go back (1-2 days a week). I need to buy new clothes post-covid anyways. I’m thinking some casual, but quality, plain black dresses that I can wear a sweater, jacket, blazer (when necessary), shirt, etc. over. Could dress up or down with shoes. Thoughts?

I feel trapped. We work hard, break glass ceilings, put in all the blood, sweat and tears needed to "make it". Usually twice as fast, with a babe on a hip - cooking, running a call. I'm over 50, solo and a parent & over the rat race. I've been putting out feelers and feeling the over 50 burn. I don't need to lead the world - a small piece would be nice, ok money. Fun people, easy roll, smart work, build smart people - cool teams. I get "you'll be bored here - we can't afford you". What2do?
