Does anyone know comp related federal proposal development roles in consulting? Worth pursuing these roles?

Not sure with comp because there is a wide variety of experience required for BD roles just like with anything else. Roles exist for everything between the analyst level and the partner level - just depends.

Pros - If you’re successful, your name is tied to growth in the company and you can advance quick, likely with large bonuses.

Cons - Working on proposals all day every day sounds like a job full of the worst, most excruciating part of public sector consulting (obviously this is my personal opinion, there are people that love it).

Concur with SC1. If you like working days, nights, weekends, and holidays, it may be the role for you. And the comp range is very wide.

Honestly, roles like that are exhausting. I tried to hack it because I liked the money and just couldn't.

Pay depends on level and experience. AFS has openings for these roles.

I work at a Financial Institution and have recently been approached about a Director role with my prior company. It’s a great opportunity but I have 2 young kids (Preschool/Elementary ages) and I don’t want to sacrifice time with them for career advancement. I would love to hear from working moms in senior leadership roles to understand if it’s possible to balance both, or is it best to wait a few more years? Not happy currently and looking to move, but unsure of pursuing lateral vs. a promotion

How long on average have you all stayed in one position? How about tenure at each company?

So I just accidentally found out that the senior associate in our office makes almost 3x the amount I do per month. For background, we have 4 attorneys, the senior associate has about 9 years more experience than I do (I have 6). This person should be paid more than me, I have no problem with that. Is it normal for there to be that big of a difference in pay? I just want to know if I’m getting screwed.
