401k match question - what are the benefits for your firm? For Accenture we get 100% match up to 6% (total of 12%) after we are employed for at least 2 years. Just wondering how it’s like in other consulting firms.

I left biglaw after 3 years to a mid-size firm. Took a pay cut but the hours, people, culture and work were so much better I never thought twice about the salary or “prestige.” Ultimately I started 2 very small firms. I am not rich by biglaw standards but I have a very comfortable life and put my kids through college with no debt. 35 years after leaving big law, people are still impressed when I say I started there. I feel like I still had the benefits of the connection w/o the suffering.

Inflation costs are killing my pipeline. Many of my deals are scaling back greatly because of their rising operating costs.

How do we overcome the inflation objection? I mean obviously the answer is to show how much value we offer, but how do we do that when all of the companies we work with barely have enough funding?

They need our services, which is at least some job security, but their scale back is greatly affecting our projections and quota attainment.

What is the point of a PIP when you've already been told there is no saving the situation? Could it be related to the relocation benefit involved? If you are terminated after a PIP is that considered 'cause'?

Can anyone give insight on what your company is doing moving forward with vaccine mandates and work from home permanently? My team was given the option to work from home perm if they wanted. A lot of companies I’ve heard are doing the same thing and allowing people to wfh permanently but also have heard some companies are still going to push vaccine mandates for in office employees. I started my new job completely remotely in June and when we go back to the office, it would be a 1.2 hour, 40-mile one way commute.. Would it be entitled of me to ask to come into the office 3x/week since by the time that we return to the office, I’ve already proven that I can work efficiently from home? Resigned the other week and gave a 4 week notice period (as per contract). Moving on to bigger and better things!

Employer said they were happy to negotiate a shorter notice period..happy days I say!

Had meetings with the GM and manager yesterday to sort it all out.. then they were having a meeting later that day to finalise everything..I follow up this morning and get told..“nope we are now not in a position to negate down, you need to work your notice in full”

Hi! I was given a job offer of an in-office help desk support in tech. Currently, they have employees working remotely. The employer emphasized to me in the interview that they are looking to hire in-office employees. Given how I badly wanted the job, I said yes. However, is it possible for me to request a transition into working remote, just temporarily (1-2 months working remotely bc I’m planning to go back to my home country for a month long visit) after maybe 6 months?
