Interviewing for MBB...how do I spin my tech implementation experience to strategy consulting?
Is strategy consulting really that great or is implementation the place to be? I know MBB is trying to move into implementation so is it useless trying to stick to strategy or should I prepare myself for the future by doing delivery?
I am looking for some advice or opinions to apply for consulting jobs right now. I currently work at a mid-sized/regional firm, but plan move to a different city later this year. I have ~4 yr xp working on system implementations, IT policies/controls, and BPO, but my undergrad GPA wasn't the best (I did become a CPA and CISA though). Should I try to apply to big 3/big 4? Stay mid-sized? Get an MBA or Masters? Move and pray? Thanks in advanced for any comments!
What salary can you expect for fed consulting coming out of an MBA program like Georgetown? I know commercial is ~145k base but have no data points on fed salaries.
What are some cons of working at MBB? Bad work life balance is probably the biggest but ‘what else’?

Considering pursuing FRM certification. Currently in FS and don’t have a background in business/finance (studied Econ). Would FRM help bridge the subject matter knowledge gap?
MBB 🐠’s, what are some viable options for someone with 5 yrs of ERP implementation experience to join an MBB?
Are starting salaries for the same jobs different by school? Like for example would MBB/FAANG pay more for a HBS grad than a Booth grad? Or is it just that the HBS grad has better chances at landing the position, but the pay is the same?
I have an engineering background, graduated last December, and accepted MBB over FAANG (product design & manufacturing engineering offers) . This bowl’s focus on exiting consulting into FAANG (cont)
Hey Fishes, For the folks who have done an MBA and have stayed in consulting throughout, why did you feel the need of getting an MBA and how has it helped you achieve your goals? Trying to understand what value can an MBA add to my career if my short term goal is to continue in consulting

How to get into top 3 MBA with decent (3.7-3.8) undergrad grades from a state school, 740+ GMAT, as a straight white male at a Big 4?
Moving from big4 to core strategy firm (read MBB). Have 2 months before I join the new firm. Wondering what I can do to prepare myself, are there any courses, books that would help me gain some skills. I have mostly done PMO, tech implementations kind of work so far. Don't want to leave any stone unturned and want to make it work.

My current company is in talks with a partnership opportunity with a past employer of mine. Is there a professional way to warn my past employer that my current company would not be a good partner. My current company is dishonest, disorganized, and doesn’t follow through on commitment. It puts me in an uncomfortable position, but I do not want to damage any professional relationships. Yes, I am trying to get out of here. Thank you
Hey Fb friends - need an advise. My current firm hasn’t stated my GC process yet and with current processing time it appears to be somewhere around 12-15 months time to get PERM approved. In addition my current firm needs leadership approval & they make me sign a reimbursement form in case I quit. On other hand, I have approved i40 from my ex-employer (Big4) who fired me last fall, I don’t know if they will hire me back. Since I am from India and the date of filing appears like going to be…cont.
In terms of total comp, who do you think makes more: an EP at an agency or a mid level producer at a FAANG company?
Best delta platinum gift?
Just had an interview with a jeopardy multi day winner, multiple degrees and majors from top schools, ex-mbb, and held a major position in a major US city governance, while now being a director at a F50 company. All before the age of 35. Makes me just so feel so dumb and insignificant despite knowing that's probably not healthy haha. Anyone else have a similar experience? What was that peron's background?
The more pedestrian your intellect, the better fit you are at D Heard of a colleague with an FRM charter being laid off today. Overall excellent person. And you won't believe who they promote year after year.. the character, curiosity and quality of the lifers Don't join this firm if you for a love of learning and to be inspired. Join if you are a middling who wants a good brand to hack ahead in life and rise above your station
Since George Floyd's murder and the sudden Corporate America "wokeness," I (black guy) have been routinely contacted by unacquainted Partners who explicitly state something to the effect "Client X wants diversity, so we'd like you on this deal..." It really comes across as tone deaf and completely patronizing. I appreciate the efforts to diversity (albeit forced), but Partners really need to learn how to not be so supercilious in the approach. You don't have to overtly state that I'm the quota.
After 5 years of good ratings I was terminated from a regional CPA firm, but my last day is next month. Am I obligated to tell a prospective employer I was fired while I am technically still employed?

Does anyone have any thoughts about a company terminating an employee within the HR team for testing positive for COVID 19 and further accusing the said employee of being the one that created the entire team to become infected by not answering the health screening questions accurately? The week prior to employee being tested the entire team was in the office sick. The company in question weeks prior wrote the employee up referencing sexual innuendo due to an accusation of a preferred name.
Opinions on what happening with Facebook and their poor employee outlook? What will FAANG be if Facebook hits the fan? NAAG?

I’m feeling pretty nervous about it since social situations/meeting new people were always hard for me even before COVID. Does anyone have any advice to help with this?
