Ok uk is not as reliant on paper as the us - experience means more. Make sure you truly understand the NHS before you apply e.g. it’s not a single payor - it’s a single funder. It’s not universal healthcare - there are things you can’t get on the NHS etc etc. it is also hugely political and suffers from the ‘Peter Principle’ a lot in its senior leadership which can be hugely frustrating. On the flip side you can actually make a direct difference patient care and there are more innovative parts now stood up to help develop new clinical models. You should also understand social care as a lot of integration has happened. Also note that the NHS in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland is subtly different. Hope this helps

I’m guessing pay is terrible, given their physician pay
Yes without restrictions I believe. I worked for the NHS in the London HQ and had an American colleague and a couple Canadians. The American had lived in UK for only a few years (maybe did some kind of masters in UK). Canadians had been in UK for 5+ years. Everyone else was british I believe.
C1: the pay must be nothing to talk about?
I've also worked at the NHS
Any insight into it? I currently work in healthcare consulting in the US and have always had an interest in ending up in London eventually.
It very easy to see the pay bands as it’s all public - each role has a classification and corresponding salary. Look up nhs pay bands.
