Has anyone moved from a big 4 to a BDO/GT/RSM? I have an opportunity to move to a mid tier as a manager or stay at KPMG for another year to become a manager. On one hand, I have consistently been a top performer and have an outstanding reputation at KPMG, but on the other hand I am and sick of the forced standardization/granularity and overall long hours culture at B4. Also, I look up and see that managers/partners are abused here in my B4 office. Will it be materially different at a BDO/GT/RSM?

How much do smaller firms / freelance consultants charge for short (e.g. 8 week) strategy engagements? I know MBB can run in the high 100ks, even close to 1M, and B4 about 2/3s or half that

Background:Asia, expecting to promote to M this cycle.
Looking for some advice on being headhunted/jumping ship. I’m speaking to HR from another big 4 + a recruiter for another firm for an M role, and it looks like the $ and potentially benefits will be bigger, but I’m not that keen on moving unless the $ is a huge jump. Any advice on how I might navigate this? Have interviews next week for the other roles.

What are the cultural differences between the big 4 firms? Pwc vs Deloitte vs KPMG and EY?

Is it worth switching over to an MBB? I know a lateral move to Business Analyst would pay more (currently at a big 4), but I’ve heard the culture is much different and that it’s harder to succeed.

So I've got a mish-mash of a background covering:
(1) Financial Audit at a big 4
(2) A controls/process internal advisory role in industry
(3) A solid base of technical programming experience in data science, full-stack, and low-code applications, obtained through projects at work and personal projects.

Will it be a mistake to join a valuation practice as an experienced staff/associate for $85k when i have the option of continuing with stupid b4 consulting at 105k? would move for solid exit opportunities in fp&a & higher paying job later down the road. but it’s tempting to stick with public consulting for more $$ and zero exit opps. i like val, i want to do it; just not sure it’s the right move.
