I’m a recent graduate of masters and currently have 2 offers in my hand.

1) One with CITI Bank with 100k salary and no sign on bonus and as it is in my home town as I stay with my family needs no relocation bonus required.

2) This is with American Airlines in Dallas Fort Worth which offered 100k + 10k bonus + 18k relocation bonus (required)

Which ofer should I consider given I’m a new graduate and this is going to be my first job. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Hello, is anyone doing their level 3 CIPD with Total People?

Those of you Director/ VP level HR folks, what exactly do you do in terms of “strategic” HR? I earned my Director wings 1 year ago. When I started in HR I always wondered about the meetings my Director or VP would be in. Like what were these big cool things they’d be working on. Now I’m a Director with only a generalist under me so I get bogged down with the tactical stuff but I’m wondering am I missing out on what a Director level person should be doing.

I am in the process of finishing up my MBA but considering also getting my SPHR or PHR cert. Is it even worth it or a waste of time and money?

I'm currently the Staffing Specialist at my company. I've only been in the field and in my position for 9 months and plan to take the SHRM-CP test in the fall. While I feel confident in what I do, I don't feel so confident in my overall knowledge of HR.

My VP has budgeted for me to receive study materials about a month before the test, but I personally need a little more time to study as I get test performance anxiety. Do any of you have any inexpensive suggestions for study materials?

I’m a boomerang employee and a friend of mine noticed that my company posted a similar job description to mine on indeed 10 days ago. My boss didn’t tell me they were hiring another person in our department (small department - 4 people). Should I be worried? Should I bring it up to my boss? I’m really stressing myself out over it. Hi all! I have an opportunity to work as a l&d specialist at a tech company. They are quoting 70-75k for base salary. I have 8 years experience. Is that number fair? It seems low to me but I just wanted to check.

Hoping to get my PHR in the next year or so. Outside of employer reimbursement, are there other opportunities for this to get funded? I know SHRM Foundation offers scholarships for the CP, but I am looking for PHR specific help. Thank you! :)

My company is in need of a update online, could use your opinions! We need to better showcase our culture (caring, supportive, fun, intelligent IT industry leaders) as well as diversity. We are predominantly white still but making strides to improve here. What’s the best way to approach? I don’t want to seem disingenuous or that we are singling out our diverse employees (asking for photos). We have a remote and on-site workforce about 350+ EEs. Non white EEs make up about 35% of the company rn.

I'm a former teacher in the K-12 system and a current employment counsellor at a non-profit where my job responsibilities include administering and writing my own program and teaching a small class of adults on employment skills. I enjoy the work, but I'd like to transition into an L&D facilitator role in a year or so. How would you recommend I hone my skills in order to look more appealing to potential employers?
