I would post on the job referral bowl, might get some good recommendations there

I know the Mayo Clinic is hiring remote coders. I think Northwestern Medicine is as well. I would try searching online to see what's out there, I think a lot of companies are hiring remote coders right now.

I second posting in the job referral bowl. I would also suggest looking on Linked in. I usually have goood luck finding roles there.

Any tips on adjusting to working at a very big company? This new role is at a large co (5k employees across multiple countries) and is hands down the biggest company I’ve worked at. I’m frustrated at how long it takes for the littlest things, and as a result I feel very underutilized. For example I asked “what’s the generic email address for sales?” and it’s now a 16 email long thread with 7 people, each of them passing the buck. This is painful.

I was laid off in June and just got a job offer that I am excited about. However, my partner and I are also in discussions about moving. The job would be remote for at least another 5+ months so it wouldn’t be an issue now, but eventually people will be back in the office in some hybrid plan.

Is it better to float the possibility of working remote long term with HR now? Or do I accept and say nothing til we’ve officially decided to move. I don’t want to lose the opportunity. What would u do?

I'm about 6 weeks into my first salaried position (ever) as a software developer. I'm so thankful and blessed to be here and to have the support of loved ones along the way. If you told me even a year ago where I would be now in life and my career, I wouldn't believe you. It was grueling work to get here but the setbacks and disappointments I had along the way these last few years helped to make me the man and developer I am today. Hello RSM coworkers! I am thrilled to be moving to RSM into a Scheduler roll. I just found out yesterday and want to be as prepared as possible in the next steps.

So here are my questions.

How long does the background study take? I'm guessing admin staff have a study that is faster and less complicated than someone in Tax ect.

When training at home what did you need that wasn't supplied by RSM? My home office is well stocked but I want to be as prepared as possible.

Thanks in advance!

So, I started watching “Limitless” with Chris Hemsworth. Apparently, he found out he carries both genes for dementia which puts him at a higher risk. So the series is about him changing things in his life for longevity. The third episode is about fasting and he fasts for 4 days until the day he has to hunt for his food. Does anyone in healthcare have thoughts on this type of fasting? I know it is done in some cultures and religions, but to what extent?
