I am considering accepting a fully remote senior counsel litigation position at a Big Law boutique in a different time zone. Has anyone done this? Comp would increase by a lot, and I like the ability to WFH, but I’m afraid I would become a cog in a wheel instead of doing real legal work. I also don’t know many of their lawyers or any of their judges which concerns me.

For people who have returned to the office, are you feeling more or less productive? Today’s my first day back (going in only twice a week) and it feels like being new again. My firm has a monthly billable requirement. I did not meet the minimum in July but I am usually about 30 hours over in other months. I took a few days off and work was just generally slow which honestly was a nice change of pace. Will my low hours this month be a red flag?

Transactional lawyers - I’m working on what will essentially be a script for automating common phrases, sentences, and paragraphs I end up typing out dozens of times a day (e.g. “Attached please find and updated closing checklist for the above-referenced transaction. Items we need on your end are highlighted in the attached. Please send any of the highlighted items as the become available”). What are some things you end up saying dozens of times a day in your practice?

How long to argue MSJ? Opposing counsel wants to request a half day which seems insane to me. Cross MSJs. I told him no matter how complicated these motions are judge is not going to want to listen to us for more than maybe an hour—even that seems too long.
