Does anyone know the difference between Nexus and Global Entry? Nexus is half the price, but it looks like it has all the benefits of Global Entry. Too good to be true?

I have NEXUS, and I have used Global Entry when arriving from multiple non-Canadian countries. The only downside is you have to interview at an airport/location in or near Canada.

like

Nexus gets you Global Entry plus the Canadian equivalent at half the cost. Only downside is that it's slightly harder to get as 1) only airports in/near Canada will have interview centers; 2) you may have to have some regular Canada travel to justify it

like

GE includes TSA Precheck and Nexus includes GE so yes

like

From the Global Entry FAQs, "All current NEXUS members [...] are eligible to use Global Entry kiosks once they provide fingerprints and document information to CBP." The NEXUS card itself won't work as a form of ID at the kiosks at non-Canadian Preclearance airports but your passport still does so you can still use Global Entry flying from anywhere else

BCG 1 and D1 are wrong. DD1 is right. Nexus includes Global Entry and TSA Pre. Essentially Nexus adds expedited customs into Canada as well as TSA Pre-like security screening in Canadian airports for flights headed to the US. Even with Nexus, you almost always end up using Global Entry to enter the US, even from Canada.

like

BCG1, you are still wrong. Nexus includes a complete Global Entry membership. Nexus also includes a complete TSA Pre membership. Nexus gets you absolutely every expedited entry option the United States of America has

like

D1 how is Nexus worthless in that situation since it provides Global Entry which then provides the benefit?

like

What the Global Entry FAQ is saying, though, is that NEXUS qualifies you to use Global Entry without location restriction. So it doesn't matter that NEXUS kiosks are only in Canada; NEXUS holders can use Global Entry entering the US from anywhere

like

Essentially nexus has the same benefit as global entry at half the cost. I have it and used GE kiosks coming from Mexico, east Asia, and Europe (in addition to Canada of course). Interviewing is a pain and takes time to process though as mentioned earlier

like

Does Nexus include TSA pre?

Sounds like quite the arbitrage opportunity

Nexus is the best

Unless they changed it, Nexus only give the benefits of Global Entry when flying between US and Canada. Benefit: you get Pre and it works like GE when going in to Canada as well. Con: you're still in customs line when flying back to US from any other international country.

All access too

I have global entry, faster processing for Canada, and pre for $55

D1 is right. Nexus only works for Canada. N stands for Northern. Global entry, on the other hand, includes Nexus as well as Sentri, the southern border equivalent. The only thing I'm not clear on is whether global entry includes expedited drive-across privileges that you would get with Nexus or Sentri. GE definitely works for pedestrian crossings and as a vehicle passenger in the expedited lanes.

GE doesn't include Nexus going into Canada

Can't fly back from anywhere else with Nexus though. Or walk back from Mexico. Think the answer is here is none really include the others. Just portions depending on country, direction of travel, and mode of transit.

If you are flying in to the US from Spain, Nexus will prove worthless. You get GE benefits and can use GE kiosks when traveling between US and Canada.
