Depends on the company you're applying to. Generally just verification of dates and the info you provide

A lot of the time, they don’t - they just use LinkedIn, regulator filings, credit history (which sometimes reflects changes in employer) etc. if they are going to ask employer, they usually say so.

I don’t know if I’ll ever get the courage to go back to a high pressure high paying job again but I do want to. I was so stressed out and miserable before. So I kind of took a break by taking it slow and got a different job. The plan was to recharge and go back. Advice for young attorneys dealing with non-billable workload? I’m still my first two months at my firm but a ton of the work I’m being assigned is non-billable. I understand if I’m not still fully on boarded but how are we supposed to keep up billables while being given time consuming non billable work?

My boss asked me how much time I need off for the bar exam (second juristiction). I told him I'd like to start really hammering down beginning of July. He was fine with that, but as far as being "gone" no one has said anything about me taking time off. The firm has unlimited vacation. Are they still going to pay me? Lol. I know this is very specific, but I'm curious what has been the case for others at firms with similar vacation rules.
