A week after my last interview, the internal recruiter contacted me just to touch base. 3 days later, I received an offer from another company and I contacted the recruiter from the job I want to tell her and she said she would check with the hiring manager and that we should she responded, “stay in close touch.” I emailed today casually to see if there was any update. No answer, any insight into why?

Had a really great initial interview with a recruiter for a CS role at a company I’m dying to work for! The recruiter went over next steps which would include scheduling an interview with the hiring manager next. I was interviewed on a Tuesday and he said he’d get back about the interview with the hiring manager at the end of the week, or latest Monday. I also followed up with a thank you email after the interview. It’s now the following Friday (almost 9 days later) Should I follow up or wait?

I really like my job...I’m great with clients, love mentoring/training staff, like learning, and even the grind, but I don’t know if I can handle busy season anymore. Currently lead ux designer with 6 years industry experience.

I feel like I am not getting clear guidance or leadership from my design manager or my PM. I have been creating project initiatives, frameworks and discussion guides but there is no one really assisting me in creating them or stepping up to make decisions on the best path forward. I am trying my best but it seems like I am the only one creating execution docs and coordinating efforts across all stakeholders. Isn’t this my PM and Design managers role? Is this a major red flag?

I want to create a data visualization portfolio, but I’m not sure where to begin. I work in urban planning and wanna do more urban analytics kind of stuff. Does anyone have any pointers for me as to where to begin and what all different types of visualizations I should be aiming to include? I’ve used R and Excel for this so far. I’ve done some web mapping using JS as well and use illustrator for my visualizations as well. Thanks!
