Hi folks. What is the ideal salary for someone with 10 years of experience in financial services who would be joining the consulting division at Manager level (not sure if it is 1,2,3)? Is there a concept of minimum assured variable pay at EY GDS?

Also, how is the work-life balance in this profile in general? Do people work late and during weekends regularly? I understand divisions have lot of pressure during certain times but not sure about consulting.

What is the point of overlapping salary bands? Seems like asking for trouble. Just make them not overlap. If someone is “worth” a certain amount, give them the title that goes with it.

Is it just me or the average billable work in infrastructure transactions has blown off steam in the last couple of weeks?

What would you say to an agency, if they told you the job was yours if you got within budget, that it wasn’t a competitive bid scenario, then worked with you for two weeks and several meetings, to firm up a detailed proposal, assuming an award and sow and kick off... only to reveal there was a lower bidder. At the very least, it means I’ll never work with them. But I’m not sure what to say, really. It’s like they managed to find something worse than ghosting. They lied and took us for a ride.

My income was last year $450k and this year prob $400k all in. 34 and no family. Would you consider getting a home for $1.3 mil? Tax abated so monthly fee will be about $6k.
