Hi! I was presented with a project where the client is an online betting and gambling company. I would be supporting the HR function, so not directly involved in the money making side of things. Would you take this project? While I don't think gambling/games of chance in it of itself is bad/sinful (my family will play cards with small amts of $ now and then for fun) - comes down to the individual's motive/heart, I do hesitate here because of the impact gambling can have (addiction, etc)...cont

Might have just made myself look bad, but I’d have done the same thing over again. Started a new client (finally thank God) and was supposed to be the only 1 staffing it. Found out an overseas person was allocated. Reached out to manager/partner - they didn’t realize and both made bad comments about them. So I asked… if I had to work with them. They planned for me to do the engagement alone anyway, and why would I want them if they clearly don’t either?

There's a senior asociate who everybody loves (he's like the class clown/cool guy/cracking jokes) like everyone adores him. He scheduled a meeting with me tomorrow to go over a project because he was my engagement manager but I have the WEIRDEST FEELING ABOUT HIM. Corporate junior associate here. Do firms genuinely treat pro bono the same as billable work? I’ve billed around 200 hours pro bono this year and as we near our review cycle, I’m anxious about whether there’s such thing as too many pro bono hours.

I admit, as a fifth year big law associate it has taken me way too long to find a good memory devise for whether Supra or infra means “see above” or “see below.” But I found it and now I’ll share it with my other Latin-vocabulary-challenged fishies.

4 years of biglaw and added 55 pounds. I just can’t seem to find the time to exercise nor create a dedicated meal plan that works (9pm knowing I have at least 5 more hours to go, I eat). Any tips?
