What is your school or districts maternity or paternity policy?

Are there any books or gifts that are good for moms that are expecting their first baby?

Just heard that my district will have classroom and live-recording learning. I’m thankful because I now can feed my family, my newborn and a recent-sponsored wife! I’m scared because I’m almost 50 and I’m afraid I might catch the virus and die leaving behind my 1 month baby and a wife who is not legal in the state yet! The USCIS or Trump’s dept. thinks she’s not good enough to be in the US!! We applied for green card and SS card since August 2019!

Her views and the man who nominated her aside, I am very impressed by ACB’s accomplishments as an American, woman, mother, and judge!

I think I coming down with memory loss. I don’t recall what we did to celebrate our milestone like birthdays, Mother’s Day, wedding anniversary or promotion post baby. I do recall every celebration we had for the baby, but it’s almost like I either don’t remember anything or have only few memories. We are also in a bubble but how is it that I have forgotten what we are for a recent promotion or what we did for our anniversary. Have an annual check up scheduled, but this is embarrassing.

Second kid? I’m turning 35 next month.. 7th year associate, just quit biglaw couple months ago for a small firm (they are pretty busy but def more humane). Very hesitant about having a second child but worry that I will miss my chance. My husband is saying if I don’t do it soon, he doesn’t want a second child (he’s approaching 40). I feel a lot of pressure - I don’t know about my future with this firm or what I even want to do (never wanted to be a partner but I do like deal work)...

Any one please give me some clarity on TCS maternity policy. My wife is 5 months pregnant now and my joining date in tcs is 21- March. I'm I eligible for insurance amount for maternity expenses. If yes how much.

Ladies, I’m 33.5 and 18 months away from being elected partner if I make the push. My husband and I are also thinking of starting a family but this job spares me no single second to take care of my health or focus on getting pregnant. Will be 35 by the time of election next year. Should I quit and focus on starting a family in the interim as I can make partner after few years but body clock doesn’t wait?

Has anyone heard of the Natalist? I found their Parent Plans book but the only reviews are directly on their site. Alternatively, are there any recommendations for books my husband and I can read to begin preparing to have a child? I can’t just get pregnant and figure it out, I need to try to go in informed (understanding that there’s no way to truly prepare). Expecting Better and Crib Sheets have very polar reviews and don’t quite fit the bill for me. TIA!

Hey guys is it wise to join TCS for long term and ask for wfh for a few months since I'm a nursing mother

My wife is 29 and has PCOS. We noted from some of the recent tests that she has low progesterone level which basically results in the egg not being released into the uterus. All other metrics seem to be fine. We are immigrants and got letoval prescribed through our gyn. back in India. Just started going down this path. Got appointment with the infertility clinic here in February.

12 weeks pregnant and looks like my promotion which was supposed to take effect August 1 might be delayed by a month. Don’t go to the office too much but if promotion can only happen in a month- should I tell my boss before ? I don’t want her to feel like I hid it until after the promotion (I recently started in this role).

I’m in my late 20s & very much single. Every time I bring up something I want to do (travel, adopt a dog, make a big life decision in general), my family always responds “you should wait until you meet the right guy to do that” as if I exist to be a man’s companion and not to be my own full fledged person. I have a junior associate working with me on a case. I try hard to be cognizant of giving plenty of time, being available for questions, and explaining the assignments thoroughly at the outset. This associate doesn’t do the work they are assigned, but is always trying to do things no one asked them to do that don’t actually help. I’m all for empowering junior associates but it’s getting frustrating. Any advice? I don’t want to throw the associate under the bus.
